Harvest

In this post you can see the ink illustration 'Tomatoes' that I created for Chapter Forty-Four of @dougkarr's thrilling novel Dwelling, a crime novel set in New York’s Lower East Side.

Chisulo watched as Stella harvested the last of the tomato plants into a cooking pot. Despite all the encouragement to the contrary, Chisulo still felt a singular allegiance to Stella, who was after all his own flesh and blood.

Stella looked from the tomatoes to her son's distraught face and smiled, she could tell he was agonizing over their troubles.
"Bring these inside," she said sweetly.
Chisulo accepted the tomato filled pot and walked into the building.
Entering the hallway, he walked towards their family apartment, but hearing the stormy voices inside Chisulo thought better, and continued through the hall, exiting the building.

@opheliafu hello dear friend.
I really like these monochromatic works and the style you have used, the tomatoes have a lot of realism, even the canule that lights the fruit of the plant looks great.
Thank you very much for the crativas works that you give us daily
I wish you happy rest

Very nice. The B&W makes it timeless. The character Stella reminds me of a restaurant/bar we have up north not far from Galena area called Stella's. Thanks my friend.
