#SculptJanuary19 Day 3. Quite Delightful Sculpting Process

in art •  6 years ago  (edited)

The more I sculpt the more I look forward to the end of January and see if there's any improvement on my skill. And to see if I win the contests of course. Sometimes scrolling down the awesome artworks in Sculpt January Facebook group making me kinda nervous and feel belittled.

While it's not good to compare yourself to some pro artists who have years and years of experience, I still hope I can get as great as them as quickly as possible.

#SculptJanuary19 Day 2 | Mood: Delight

Anyway, here's my day 2 sculpture for the challenge. What you see here is a delighted delightful mug of coffee because, well, I like coffee. I hope the face, the monocle and everything doesn't get in the way that make it no longer visible as a coffee mug to the viewers' eyes. The blush, the smoke, and the glittery effect were made with the grease pencil, one feature that's been improved in Blender 2.8.

I didn't give him any name, though. Not sure what gentleman name that would sound good with something that have to do with a mug. I'm afraid if I give him a stupid name he'd be angry and his expression would change.

Before you continue, I need to warn you that the picture you're going to see below is considered NSFW. So if you don't think you can have that right now, you know what's best for you.

#SculptJanuary19 Day 3 | Body: Chest

Unfunny joke aside, here's the day 3 sculpture. It was a little tricky sculpting a posed human body without the help of symmetry lock. Some more creative people out there decided to sculpt a chest, as in a container, stuck on a human chest. There's also a human chest-shaped chest. Probably from the confusion of the context but turned out to be unique creations.

While my sculpture may not as creative and humorous, I managed to create this the way I wanted it to look and it's enough for me. This was also another good practice on the lighting, one of the things that I need to improve the most on my work.

I hope you like it, Steemian. Have a great and productive January, and I'll see you later with the day 4 sculpture. Coming up next: Attribute: Rotten.

Sort Order:

1.- You should consider calling the mug a... Gentlemug... I think it's rather fitting hjgkfdl
2.- The chest looks so amazing oh my god. I think I could even write a story on it, I imagine something like a part of a mannequin just thrown away on an alley, laying there while the nearest strip club neon sign's light just gently touches the surface of the chest, almost making it jiggle from the touch of it.

Anyways man, this is awesome! I hope I get to see more of your content soon o/:

Gentlemug it is lol.
Thank you! It was my first sculpting human body in which half the process was done without the help of symmetry lock, which would otherwise make the process twice as easier, so I'm glad you find it amazing. And that's an interesting background story you think of! I'm guessing the part of the idea came from the red lighting? :D

Sorry for taking so long to answer, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

And yeah, the mannequin idea came from the lighting, it just has that "british humid alley near a strip club" vibe to it, lol!
