'Beyond' - digital painting

in art •  8 years ago  (edited)

Hey all. Here's a creation I came up with while meditating after watching Toy Story. I felt like I reached a point of calm and stillness that made me feel like my mind was "...to infinity and beyond!".... then of course I snapped out of the meditative state and started sketching lol.

Step 1: Sourced a space background from one of those image sites. I could have done this from scratch but in the interest of saving time and getting the idea quickly out of my head I just used an image.

Step 2: Put Earth at the bottom of the image and also played around with the "thought" with which will illuminate from Buzz's consciousness. Once again in the interest of saving time I used stock images http://wallpapertube.com/digital-art/1-miscellaneous-digital-art-blue-wallpaper.

Step 3: The main subject enters the picture, Buzz Lightyear! I wanted him just sitting there peacefully, a stark contrast from his character bouncing around in the movies lol.

Finished! If you have any questions or would like an explanation on anything please let me know :)

Thankyou. I did not remember where I discovered this image. The links you posted are very helpful as I was not aware of this. Do I need to take the image down or modify it?
