To the U.S. Postal Service ~ We have a solution for you.

According to recent reports, letter-sending through the U.S. Postal system has declined 121% since the invention of email.

This is not surprising -- letters are delivered instantly via email, compared to the days it takes for a letter to go through the postal system, and even then some are not delivered if they're lost or mangled by the machines.

But we can understand that this decline in stamp-buying is quite worrisome.

So we at the Banana Collective have come up with a solution for you, dear Postal Service:

Coat envelope flaps with banana-flavored glue

It will start a mad rush of letter-sending, as people everywhere will love the taste of the glue on the envelope flaps. It may even start a new craze in paper-and-ink writing.

You're welcome.

I'm sure Gramnana must remember the days when we had to lick the stamps to put them on the envelopes. Maybe the decline in stamp seals is because they are self adhesive.

The post office should use the banana flavored glue on the stamps. People will buy them just for the taste!

You are absolutely right, Dearie. I remember, back when I was a wee little thing, we had to lick the stamps AND the envelope flaps. Then we had to roll to the post office to send the letter. It was an uphill roll the whole way. Then we had to roll back home, which was also uphill.

At least that's the way I remember it. Rolling and rolling until we got very tired and thirsty. I'm actually pretty thirsty right now, and am going to make some tea.

Thanks for reminiscing with me for a while, @emergehealthier. :-)

Enjoy your tea, it is my favorite beverage! I'm sure you memory is 100% correct.

My memory about what?

Was I talking about something? Surely I'd remember if I was telling a story or something.
