Bassnectar Interview

in bassnectar •  7 years ago  (edited)

After my opening set in April of 2008, I was sitting in the green room with Lorin (Bassnectar) before he went on stage. At the time, he was my favorite artist and I really believed that he was going to do something with music that no one else had ever done. His music at that time consisted of great crescendos building up to environmental, political, and spiritual speeches in the middle of his performances. He added this human touch to a sub bass line that could be felt in your soul. I felt he was on to something and I was honored to open on the stage before him. I pulled out my camera and did the short interview with him. I asked him "what his future with music would be."

Here's the flyer from the night of this interview.

It was neat to see his plans come to fruition, now that he's the one of the biggest performing artists on the planet.

Here's a Sweet Science Radio show that starts with one of my favorite Bassnectar tunes:

Good to see that he's a cool down to earth and open dude along with an incredible an prolific musician. Can't say that breakbeat or dubstep have ever been my thing, but I always know when a track was put together by him. cool and unique voice in a scene that lacks them - glad you got to meet him, mate.

That is Awsome my friend and Happy you got to meet him, loved the video and he seems like a genuine down to earth guy.

Very cool interview!!! Thanks for sharing!!

Yes I totally feel you I really love Bassnectar I've always been a fan of Bassnectar I saw him back in 2014 I believe was an amazing show, I have a video of one of the songs on youtube of that night. Anyway not as big a fan anymore but still a fan,he is a great guy, but I think he has outgrown himself for sure. If you know what I mean. This was back in the good old days of music haha yea bro. I have been inspired by his music and have mimicked some of his sounds in my Productions. But i have completely changed my sound since then. Cool share brother

be well

@sweetscience

I'm not a huge fan anymore. I hate to sound like a hipster but I was his biggest fan 12 years ago. But I do admire his work ethic and this "prophecy"about changing the world.
