Bible Translations
Here's a few charts to help you decide which Bible version is best for you. Versions are either more word for word, thought for thought, or paraphrase.
Many seminaries will use a version like the NASB since it's closest to word for word in deeper study but some sentences will flow better with something like the ESV which is easier for reading through for many. I think the ESV is currently the best version as it's very readable for people new to the Bible but still close enough word for word where you can study it along with the original Greek and Hebrew manuscripts.
What about people who insist KJV only? (see video debate below)
Some people have attachments to versions like the KJV the same way many prefer hymns over more modern music, but God's Word can be translated to any language and KJV is one of the most difficult versions to learn (even tougher than the NASB).
