Just read on Coindesk that the new code will be released on Friday aka tomorrow! And the Alpha stages will be in test work for 2 weeks or so.
I remember a few months ago when news broke out that bitcoin may have a hardfork the markets went INSANE! The exchanges were wild lol the trollboxes didn't stop. So, was the whole mess about Roger Ver and Bitcoin unlimited vs Core.
I for one just want this mess to be settled with... But, even with segwit in play this is short term and wouldn't really be long term. This would temporarily make the network faster(transaction) and fee's less than it is now. But, what will the long term fix be??? Either way. I will hold onto my BTC for years to come.
As we all know what segwit is working on the block sizes so the network doesn't get all wild and slow. For more info on the article link is here
