HELP CREATE A CLEAR AND SIMPLE TUTORIAL FOR BUYING BITCOIN OR CRYPTOS IN THE USA

in bitcoin •  7 years ago

I'm looking to create a simple tutorial for buying bitcoin or crypto currencies in the USA that everyday mums and dads could follow. Perhaps a list of available places (ie coinbase) with associated tutorials on how to sign up on each platform. Feel free to share ideas or links.

After we have created a helpful document or post on where to buy in the USA I would then like to replicate the same information but relative to Europe, China, Japan, South Korea, Australia etc

Looking forward to seeing what ideas people might have?

Flagged for #abuse. The post sounds pretty mean.

To look at the #rewardpoolrape I have done you can look at the figures in my blog post.

Would you like me to send you .001 Steem for reparations?

Is he really autistic? If not this is #abuse

Yeah why can't @ranchorelaxo flag @themarkymark for us, and put us in his autovoter just to make them quiet! I asked him, lets visualize this! Seems like if anyone needs to real He fixed bernie, just need him to finish themarkynark!

I think you're much better off finding a platform you are allowed on. Steemit has always been about abuse and censorship since I signed up. :( It's worse now with the free downvotes. Khaleel didn't reply to me. :(

I keep investing in the communities that don't block me, if they block me I just sell and move to another one that wants my bids! There are new communities opening up all the time, lots of options to choose from!

What communities aren't you blocked on?
Have you talked to blocktrades?

I thought about trying to start my own but I only know some HTML coding. You might be able to do it.

So far Steemleo seems like the only tribe with any real potential. Partiko should be good but I don't think they have a token.

Hello @ranchorelaxo
Thank you for your participation and this is a very good idea.
But do you have an idea about the fate of the correction to the path of Alpetkoan
The question posed to any stop value upon landing?
I wish you luck and success.

Go team @ranchorelaxo!

Interesting idea. Professional sound and mics are a must. I am so tired of the YouTube videos where it sounds like the person is talking into a tin can.

I have an older guide that went in the other direction of steem --> bitcoin --> US dollar (using coinbase):
❓Answering Common Questions: How do I spend money from my Steemit wallet? 💲

I'm sure I can put one together tomorrow going from dollar to btc. I'd just have to get setup on the other available US wallets to step through them.

Lastly, I saw a lot of comments asking for a lay person presentation of what crypto is, so I thought this might be worth linking:
What is Cryptocurrency and Why It's Not Scary

I hope their helpful.

LOOK AT BITSHARES OR OPENLEDGER DEX - IT IS THE FUTURE, IT IS MY OWN BANK !

Good initiative! Maybe mention the option to use a hardware wallet too. It is important that people start with the basis and that is SECURITY AND HOLDING YOUR OWN KEYS

Everything is rigged, manipulated, socially engineered and we are FUCKED.

true, true,,true, and where do i sign up for the fucking part.

Go away

Hello, US friends in Acapulco need our help.

https://steemit.com/life/@cmduncan94/bringing-cisco-home
What Che did not tell you in her post was Casey and her went to the US Embassy on an emergency basis three days ago looking for assistance.

Casey and Che paid the hospital bill which left them with no more money for food and Casey’s insulin.

The hospital would not release baby Cisco until they paid the $6000.

The US embassy is literally holding them hostage in Mexico now until Che and Casey can document they are US citizens with proof of residency with original documents for the past 5 years to get the baby’s documents to travel home.
Who has that when your traveling? Mind you copies? they can not be digital, everything has to be original documents due to the new immigration and naturalization laws.

A Passport is no longer proof you are a legitimate US citizen.

Can you please spare a upvote and resteem to them? ty

I want to see some type of scratch off cards that contain a private key and contain a certain amount of Bitcoin on it. Users would be able to buy these at the corner store and there would be instructions for the user to "redeem" their Bitcoins through an exchange or wallet.

is this where you got your name?

As you seem to be a person with the means to easily accomplish what your post is requesting from any number of sources; I'm going to look past it and see it as a way to open up some dialogue.

First, I would like to say:

"Welcome to the Steemit Community and I apologize that the first comments on your initial postings were so off putting and insulting"

That said, in my experience I have not found that opening the door and punching someone in the face after they knock is the most productive way to conduct business, network or get things done.

So lets cut to the chase, what are you looking to accomplish?

I have no problem welcoming you to the community or acting the part of ambassador to legions of haters you seem to have unjustly acquired.

In fact you doing exactly what the site allows you to do, has unreasonably bent a number of people out of shape and they have made the choice to act out in such as way as to bring more discredit upon themselves than anyone else.

So here is an olive branch, an apology for those that acted irresponsible and an open door for communication.

Take Care,

Richard,

@pawsdog

Hey Snoodler! What's your fucking problem? You dump a bunch of cash into here and jerk off your buddy all day ruining the community. You can't even make a post or comment defending your actions. Your an ass clown! Man up big Rancho and tell us why you think what your doing is good for the community! I know you won't man up because you gave @haejin your active posting key so he can upvote himself with your account. You don't even have the balls to snoodle him any more. Just a giant Dutch Rudder now.

This is a very good idea, there is a lot that goes into the first purchase like Private Keys, Two Factor Authentication, BTC verse BCH etc. Good luck!

Yes nice idea

Followed you.

It has become very simple already and also popular

Hello, ranchorelaxo. Cryptos can be very time-consuming, right? You might enjoy this cartoon if your wife or girlfriend questions why you spend so much time thinking about cryptocurrencies. Enjoy.

I would definitely include the transfer fees when converting bitcoin to bitconnect or even converting steem to bitcoin. From personal experience I never knew bitcoin costs a significant amount just to transfer. A simple version would definitely be beneficial.

Yeah bitcoin transaction are very high, but what is more disturbing is the time it takes for your transaction to be processed. today i transferred bitcoin from bitconnect to binance platform some time after 11am and i received the confirmation email sometime after 7pm. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOW that is a long time, that is why bitcoin have been going down, the people responsible need fix those issues it should be that way....

Wha i do?

This post caused an absolute war by the looks of things haha...

@ranchorelaxo - great idea, crypto needs to become a lot more user friendly to become mainstream, there is a big demand for simple and easy tools for mum and dad users, I actually paid for our family Xmas presents and party this year with Bitcoin.

This would be a great idea if the majority of the buyers weren't so consumed with tax laws and the guilt of earning money without giving some of it to the government.

Utilizing a tool like Exodus wallet would be good to mention considering it has "Shifter" built into it. (transfer one crypto for the value of another all from within the wallet) Picture of it in action below The only complicated part (not so much) would be simply buying bitcoin from a service like Coinbase and sending it to your wallet address to get you started. Also Exodus has a beta/experimental version called "Eden" which offers quite a larger variety of crypto-currencies and I myself have gotten it to run directly from a usb flash drive. Unlike a cold-storage device if you lose the flash drive there is a 12 word passphrase that can sync up your account with them and all of your funds will be right there unscathed. (The shifter is the biggest seller on this idea because of the ability to say "Hey I don't want all Bitcoin or Ethereum.. Whats's this Ripple xrp I keep hearing about? Oh hey I can transfer some ETH into XRP in just a few clicks without ever having to go to an exchange!" I hope this helps ;-) Exodus-wallet-interface-screenshot.png

What is Exodus wallet?

Exodus wallet from my understanding is a cryptocurrency wallet that can be used to store your coins and tokens in and unlike services like Coinbase where you have to connect to their website through a browser to access your accounts, the wallet is stored as files on your desktop pc/laptop. it is available on Windows OS and Linux (I believe). One of the features that I like so much about this wallet is that once you have sent a "cryptocurrency" to it's addresses you do not have to leave the wallet and go to an exchange to trade your bitcoin to find another. it uses a service called "Shifter" which is built right into it that allows you to easily exchange one coin for another (i.e: Trade some Ethereum for some XRP or Decred for some SALT) You can find demo videos on their website that explain more in-depth here: https://www.exodus.io/ Also it is worth noting that they have an experimental project going called Eden wallet which offers the same services with a great number of more different crypto-currencies See picture of Eden wallet in action below I hope this helps ;-)

Great stuff this was about as interesting to me than the article being a noob here trying to make sense of all this. Cool thanks.

Very nice

For bitcoin you just need to use something like Coinbase. For other cryptos you need to get into coinmarketcap, technologies, uses, and exchanges. I think Binance is the best atm but they don’t have a lot of coins, like Steem. Also make sure to cover how wallets can differ so people don’t accidentally lose cash on one time addresses.

I find binance to have a lot of coins..

That sounds like a great idea, did it ever happen?
can you help me with this charity effort?

  ·  7 years ago (edited)

@ranchorelaxo Yeah I like it too. Did this project ever take off? Also, @ranchorelaxo I am creating a very unique set of 7 bots that will be extremely useful for the steemit community. I have 5 of them completed already and I plan on having the last 2, along with a website finished within 45 days. I would like to keep the details of my business plan private until I launch. I am looking for a whale that would be willing to delegate 15,0000 steem power. I would love to have the chance to discuss my business plan details with you. If you get a chance, and are possibly i can you email me at [email protected]. My business plan is flawless and extremely profitable, while helping build the steemit community. If you plan on emailing me can you please post a reply to this comment and just put your 1st and last letter of your email address so I know it is you that I would be communicating with via email. The estimated 1st year ROI is well into the 6 figures.

Hi @ranchorelaxo

I wrote an article on how to transfer SBD from your Steemit account to Bittrex. I published this outside of Steemit.com so we can promote Steem blockchain to the masses.
Here's the link:
https://que.com/howto-deposit-steem-sbd-to-bittrex-account/

Cheers for now,
@yehey

great article. thank you for taking the time to create it.

You're very welcome. That's not the only I published to promote STEEM blockchain here are the rest https://que.com/tag/yehey just in case you're interested to read more :)

Cheers,
@Yehey

If you are desiring that to be created in the USA, how much more I am here in the Philippines...Bitcoin is not yet familiar in the Philippines and so as Steemit. I am desiring to earn more here in Steemit so that I can teach here about it, because people here wants to see an evidence of my Income first before they believe on what I am saying...Hope I could get a support from you @ranchorelaxo ...Thanks!

Have a spin, let's make it a prototype and a community with angels.

Umm, what about no?

I read here... https://goo.gl/AyHQhY

I would NEVER EVER click on any masked/hidden link no matter what. I only click on links I know where they go after I can verify them first. Beside, you are off topic here. Request was not to promote something.

USEFUL INFO FOR CANADIAN COINBASE

I’m new to crypto, decided to buy some and give it for Christmas instead of just cash.
I’m a noob so I went with Coinbase since it’s insured. I’m also Canadian, and if you’re actually planning on selling your coins, you currently can’t do that as a Canadian on coinbase. You can still transfer and send your crypto, just can’t cash it out on coinbase.

For me that’s okay since I’m not looking to really day trade with bitcoin, I’m in it for the long game. But just something to consider. Anyone know of any alternatives for Canadians who want to buy and sell as well?

thank you for sharing

A lot of us in the US are Using Coinbase to purchase Bitcoin, Hashflare to Mine it, Gdax, Xcoins and Bitconnect to exchangem lend and trade it. And them Bitpay or Coinbase to cash it out. These so far have been the most reliable methods. -Cyrus

GOOD IDEA. ALTHOUGH THERE ARE OTHERS THAT ARE SOME TUTORIALS OUT THERE.BUT IF YOU CAN MAKE YOURS JUST FOR NEWBIES AND FOCUSED ON THE MOST BASIC THINGS THAT THEIR CURIOSITY WILL DWELL ON THEN YOURS WILL BE OUTSTANDING...

I think it is also important to educate people about the anonimous idea behind some cryptocurrencies, USA exchanges ask for ID and passport and send this data to the goverment.

Hi Ranchorelaxo. Please see my material. Would you like me to create a tutorial? What I focus on is education and helping the cryptospace, currently with over 70K followers and growing. Please let let me know if I can assist you with this project.

@ranchorelaxo This would be a great idea, I get constant facebook messages and calls numerous times a day, that I need to point them to a how to do A-Z broken down so an elementary kid can understand. I myself will #resteem this post to bring some more awareness and hopefully someone can chime in and bring some helpful insight. I think the biggest leap for alot even some who knows computers and tech get a little confused when it comes to ICO's and ALT's in general and see satoshis, etc...

Anyways, I gave you a follow and upvote and will look forward to your future content. Hope to see it soon.

Bro... WHy are you flagging my last recent 3 posts? WTF did I ever do to you man? Can you please stop?

It's very interesting.
There are so many people.

Great idea. Maybe also add section how to buy some other coins like steem, monero etc.

One thing I suggest you do is add a profile picture it will help add credibility to your account so it doesn't show up a blank image.

I hope really have good idea to tell you , but i life in place or country really don't hear about bitcoin just from television , i hope from you to tell me idea i can change my poeple's thoughts

free-comedy-movies-5.jpg

Should I praise this? But this is an interesting post? I am interested to translate it in Indonesian so easy to understand by people in Indonesia, how your opinion about this ?. Do you have a clearer post for this tutorial? 😊

So much to choose from. This question shall be answered many times, the economic benefit for many everywhere around the world!

good job, safety is important

Very good post @ranchorelaxo
But coin base and that sort of websites doesnt work here so what to do in asia please guide me 😕😕

It is important that people start with the basis and that is SECURITY AND HOLDING YOUR OWN KEYS

Traktokens One can earn a lot, as we are looking for the platforms that could post our article. Here 1 ETH= 1420 TrackTokens.
Get 50-300 Trak tokens for every article you write and publish on blogs, news websites or any other popular website related to cryptocurrency.
Looking forward to having a positive response from your side.

A simpler version with no transaction fee is what we all are looking for.

Don't forget about Canada, eh.

great idea. i would go with simple interfaces like coinbase and binance and guide them by creating videos of step by step process to register, verify, buy, payment details and also mentioning secuity aspects on 2 factor authentic apps followed by ways to store (wallet, vault -both software and hardware) , how to sell and withdraw etc.

very good idea an idiots guide to buying crypto very clever indeed @ranchorelaxo

Dear brother, this publication has continued to inform us of the new

That would be interesting . I don't know much about it so would be helpful.

Ok

you are lucky

Good idea

Is there anyone here who collects actual coins or is it just me? It makes me feel connected to history.

I would recommend that you include the purchase of bitcoins using Bitit.io...cos its fast, accepts and it's commissions are ok and the use of a hardware wallet like Ledger Nano S Bitcoin hardware wallet
for Security of your Coins..{the hardware wallet is very affordable too..just 63usd to 65usd}..

I think is a great moment to do this!! if cryptocommunity grows Bitcoin will be unstoppable!

bitcoin cryptocurrency GIF

We are waiting you to Turkey for this activity.

Coinbase makes it too easy!

Wonderful initiative, uptil now millions of people still find trading in crypto rather confusing even if they would love to get involved but would chose not to bother, after all it's money we are talking about, so with a tutorial that would be easy for everyday mums and dads?? Fiat would definitely be a thing of the passed sooner than expected. All the best with that.

I cannot buy Bitcoin because of Myanmar. Myanmar doesn't include for buying. How should I do?

This is a good idea and I'd be glad to help. I think visual aids, animations and infographics are the way to go. Getting good speakers/narrators and just producing it in a professional manner and then translating it to as many languages as possible.
but
This is a bit of a stub and kinda no-spec.
When I clicked on this I kinda thought you'd have some ideas already and considering the title is all in caps maybe I shouldn't have clicked at all.

I can help you with that.

Would you like it to be posted on steemit?

I thank you on behalf of @haejin for supporting him . You are doing a great job .

Very good idea, thank you! if you can also from South America and Argentina. Thank you

Wouldn't say I know enough to teach people, but i feel i am very good a analyzing content, and giving a good review. I do tech support, so I am used to explaining things to elderly, non technical people. As well as my dad traded stock, and my brother programs, so I have gained some insights from them as well. Defintly going to follow, and try to help out any way I can.

It's a beautiful idea sir. The world of cryptocurency seems to be out of here and ambiguous even for younger generations like us. Developing a simple step by step approach would help a lot. I look forward to it. @ranchorelaxo (53)

I have been thinking to post like that forever . and I even made a simple process to understand how can we change from cryptocurrency to actual money .. https://steemit.com/steem-help/@aburmeseabroad/how-i-transfer-steem-into-real-money-steemit-newbie-tips-5

awesome! I have been working on a small pamplet/booklet as an introduction to Blockchain/Crypto currencies. I haven't finished it yet, but I think I just got a big boost of motivation.

I believe you are right because even though cryptocurrencies are becoming famous especially bitcoin, still lots of people are not aware of it. Even if they are aware, they just slip it in their ears thinking that it might be something that will take and run their money.

How making the tutorial open not just for buying crypto but also about what crypto is, because like there are still so many people that are not aware of it. When huge portion of the population will engage in crypto, it will be an advantage to the network.

Thanks for important information sharing

excelente, saludos.

Look forward to watching the video rancho...it's a great project because there really isn't that much out there talking about the basics and the steps..thanks for your support and thanks for helping haejin..he has brought so much to people and it's a shame that he is getting treated this way for using the platform as it was designed..cheers friend

Using coinbase should be simple enough, IMO.

Nearly everyone in the US has a bank account by now and understand the concept of routing (account) numbers. Furthermore, the far majority have experience with opening an online account of some sort.

That's really about all you need to know once you get directed to the coinbase website, since it gently directs you through the steps to connect the account to your bank funds (via Automated Clearing House) and buying and selling (bitcoin) is as simple as clicking on a buy or sell button.

EDIT:

I actually forgot that you have to email proof of identity, along with picture ID, but I'm fairly certain that there's no way around going through this process in order to start buying and selling bitcoin (unless you go the localbitcions route, which is probably more confusing and more likely to lead to being scammed), but this still should be simple enough. You're required to go through an even more elaborate process when signing up with an online broker for trading stocks.

I think it would not be that easy of a task as it sounds. Siply the cncept of crypto is complicated. You should start with metaforical explenations of what a crypto is and what a blockchain is. Then explain what wallets are. The most difficult part is getting ahold of those bitcoins on a centralised platform. Having different ways yo obtain them with some sites being very obscure draws people back from entering.

I think that the best way for folks to get into bitcoin, they could get into Steemit. It isby FAR right now the most accessible way to obtain crypto's. And whatever you gain here you can putin BTC on Bittrex or other.

But if the sole goal is for people to get Fiat into crypto there need to be more accesible sites that offer some degree of legitness.

fantastic idea ! I'm waiting to start learn

I can create the tutorial on Steemit.com if you would like? I can also write about the other tools in crypto :)

Hello my friend @ranchorelaxo, you could do it on the Coinbase platform, people there can buy different cryptocurrencies, not just bitcoin, the commissions are low and it's easy to use the platform. Shall we do it on this platform?

I've been censored by BernieSanders (rewardpoolrape is him) . He's a crook:
https://steemit.com/steemitabuse/@steempolice/steem-has-no-future-unless-self-vote-abuse-is-stopped-steemit-inc-and-whales-do-your-part
I recommend talking to other whales and uniting against him and other abusers.

Good think~

Great job in supporting @Haeijn. Bernersanders went after the Dollar Vigilante previously and now @Haejin. Anyone that threatens his power

I feel that its hard to replicate the information for different countries as the situation is totally different with banks and exchanges. However I think it is good to have different people creating the tutorial for their own countries and distribute the information. I have been giving free tutorials in my own countries since I started investing into cryptocurrency early this year. If you need help for creating a tutorial in singapore do let me know. Thanks and have a great day :)

To make it infographic would be easier to follow. Greetings!

There is an account using @haejin backwards to get @nijeah, and is now posting spam on @haejin's posts. Nobody is able to have conversation on @haejin's post .
