Cy, a man from the Bay Area fell victim to a "pig butchering" scam in which "pigs" or targets are "butchered" or robbed by scammers via a fake cryptocurrency trading platform.

Jessica kept urging him to borrow money and invest in the next "big market", so by December, Cy has been scammed over $1 million, a quarter is borrowed.

Because Cy downloaded MetaTrader from the App Store, he believes it is legitimate, even though it is a fake designed to look real.

Have you ever been invited to invest by a stranger? Beware of pig butchering!!
