Often described as the next internet, the blockchain technology has the potential to change our world. Just like the advent of the internet and its eventual adoption revolutionized numberless sectors of the human society, the blockchain technology, experts believe, will be more disruptive than the internet ever was.
If these assumptions are correct, then it follows that everything that is done on the internet today will have to migrate to the blockchain to stay relevant. And it may interest the reader to know that for about two decades following its mass adoption, the internet according to cnet.com is now worth over $19 trillion. The blockchain of everything should be worth two or three times this figure in the next decade.
Therefore, it is not surprising that the present Forbe list of top 100 world's billionaire has three Internet merchants in the top five category. This tells us how successful and prosperous the internet of things has become.
Sadly, the internet has reached its apogee, about to bow to the formidability and might of the blockchain. In short, we are at the threshold of seeing the blockchain of everything and the tokenization of the world. We are indeed a lucky generation, a generation who breathe the fresh air of a new millennium and its many beauties.
Although now in its last days, the internet performed some miracles, turning two Harvard drop outs, Bill Gates and Mark Zukerberg, into renowned billionaires. This couldn't have happened if their businesses were not internet driven. Consequently, the blockchain should be expected to perform more miracles, to make some of the world's billionaires by the next decade.
Already, we're beginning to see a couple of fantastic blockchain projects on the Steem and even Ethereum blockchain. Also, promising decentralized applications are springing up by the day in their numbers. These moves make the next decade quite promising for the blockchain technology. If the tempo of progress we're presently seeing with blockchain is sustained or heightened, it is expected that some blockchain investors and developers will make the top 100 world's billionaire list by 2028. Whether these speculations are true or not, only time will tell.

Well, since btc and even eth have made people some pretty profits, it’s definitely a possibility that it can blast a handful in to mass wealth if they invest smartly.
Granted, give me a few years and I’ll let you know how rich I am. ;)

This article is certainly interesting in regards to the future of blockchain and how some will grab it by the horns; however, I'm personally more skeptical of cryptocurrencies (and yes, I realize the irony of this as I'm writing this on Steemit). But I'm skeptical simply because cryptocurrencies are not a productive asset. If I bought 10 bitcoins now I would still only have 10 bitcoins 50 years now. The only way I could make a return on purchasing them now is if someone else would pay more for them in the future. This is speculation - not investing. Sure, some people will make a lot of money buying and selling cryptocurrencies but that does not make them a safe (or wise) investment. There is a difference between speculation and investing. I only hope that many people (myself included) will know the difference.
I still hope you make some pretty profits from it though!
