You try asking several people what they view as the most valuable resource in the world and you'll get answers as diverse as people differ. My answer to this question will be undisputedly a resource which determines how knowledgeable I can be. This is termed “data". Almost no one will have though of the fact that the information that has been passed down through human existence will be playing a key role in the evolution of humans today. Information has been a constant but what usually changes is the mode through which it has been passed on through generations. In our day and age, data has acquired a digital format which has greatly increased the efficiency and speed of transmission.
With this new method of data transfer comes a major downside. The fact that data has become really abundant and easy to manage has led several large self-seeking organizations to leverage on the power of our data (human capital) for their own personal gain without seeking our consent. As we surf the web and fill out personal information, these marketing organizations tend to monitor our every move and collect personal data in order to bring goods and services which might be of interest to our notice. There is also no way we can ignore the fact that these organizations also monetize our data by selling to third parties and this is best depicted by the statistics below;
- Google experienced a 50% increase in revenue between 2015 and 2017.
- Facebook made $40 billion in 2017 compared to $17 billion in 2015.
- Instagram made $630 million in 2015, and $4 billion in 2017 (535% increase!)
- Snapchat increased revenue from $59 million to $800 million between 2015 and 2017.
We can clearly see how increasingly important our personal data is simply by considering the outrageous increase in revenue that these companies are experiencing. So, have you ever made a dollar from what these organizations are monetizing?. The answer for most of us will be “No" because we have never been offered the opportunity to do that.
With the aim of eliminating this enduring injustice, a team of blockchain developers and enthusiasts have developed a unique decentralized project which goes by the name “Dayta".
Introducing Dayta
Dayta is a blockchain based platform which is aimed at helping users store, manage, and also hold total control over their personal data in order to facilitate monetization. With Dayta, users can decide which data they intend to share and with whom. I see Dayta as a very important because I consider data (human capital) to be a key component of our lives and many self-seeking organizations are pulling it out of our reach.
What worries me most when I hear about hacks into any organizations database is the loss of user data. The stolen data puts those users at the mercy of those who carried out the dastardly act. Dayta will prevent the centralized collection of user data which leaves us vulnerable while putting responsibility over our data right in our hands.
Token Details
The Dayta platform is based on the Ethereum blockchain and thus operates a tokenized ecosystem while staying open to the possibility of migrating to a new and advanced blockchain in future. The official token of the platform has a ticker “XPD" and is of ERC-20 standard. The total supply of Dayta tokens stands at 2.5 billion with 1.5 billion being put up for sale. The token sale commences on 1st of May 2019 with 1 ETH being equal to 33,750 DAYTA. The Dayta platform has launched a bonus program for it's participants which will enable them earn extra rewards for attracting new people. More details on this is available in the whitepaper.

Conclusion
After spending time to highlight the inefficiency of data management in our age, we can draw a conclusion that Dayta is on a very important course. One which offers users the opportunity to truly run their lives by having total control of their data and also the rights to monetization.
Finally, I will like to admit that this review is pretty shallow when considering the fact that the project is packed with intricate technical features. If I've been able to arouse an interest for Dayta within you, I'll encourage you to carry out further research and don't forget to update me on your findings.
