My wife @MediKatie is a big fan of Blurt, and she's got her very own account. She has actually been posting and commenting here as long as I have (since April 2022), but not a lot of people know about her. I'm sharing her with my 188 followers in the hopes some will check her out.

Why "MediKatie"?
I came up with that name several years ago when we were doing medical cannabis activism in Vancouver. It was the moment we really decided to get involved, and went from cannabis users and patients, to cannabis activists. We could tell you 100 or more amazing stories about those times, and perhaps we will, just not in this post!
MediKatie is in her early 30s. She had spinal cancer and far too much radiation as a child. She breezed through a college degree before starting her own tutoring business, which got interrupted due to a family situation. She then did several years of hardcore full-time activism in the leadup to Canada cannabis "legalization". She was arrested, charged, and tossed in jail for her efforts defending freedom! She has been interviewed by dozens of media organizations, rubbed shoulders with all the big names in the field, and started several of her own projects. One of them was Girls of Green, a cannabis modeling team, which had several talented Canadian models, and produced more than 1000 images and videos over their careers. MediKatie even created and popularized an entirely new cannabis "holiday" like 4/20, called BC Bud Day, which takes place the first Monday of August. She is also raising 2 young children, and doing an incredible job of it, too!

MediKatie's content is varied. Lately she does a lot of research (medical, cultural, etc) and presents it in articles with links and images. She can also be creative, and sometimes she posts on current events. All her posts are hand-written (no chatbot helpers), all her images are her own (or link to the source), and she keeps her topics interesting. The latest is a look at the origins (pagan, roman, etc) of Christmas.
She isn't supported by any of the big whale curators (because she doesn't buy votes, doesn't burn tokens, etc) so really appreciates independent Blurtians who might be interested in what she creates. I recommend @MediKatie - please consider following her, and supporting her content!

She gets a bit discouraged when her content doesn't get generate any discussion - she's trying to connect and make a positive impact here! Let's show @MediKatie some love. I think you'll be glad I recommended her to you. You're welcome! : )
