Social Distancing, Self Quarantine and Books

Hi Steemians

I don't know what most people do when they do self-quarantine and stay at home.

I can only guess, maybe some people are expressing their grievances in social media, about how incompetent the government is to take care of the co-19 issue. Starting from the scarcity of face masks and hand sanitizers on the market, limited personal protective equipment for paramedics in hospitals that treat covid-19 patients, until there is no allowance for small traders or day laborers who lose income because they cannot work.

Or maybe some women are enjoying watching Sinetron or Korean drama series from one episode to another. But I do not want to judge everyone like that, because I believe there are some great people who are fighting in the front lines to cure covid-19 patients, they are paramedics.

As for me, this is the right time to read more books. My previous experience, with a book thickness of 300 or 500 pages, sometimes it takes two weeks or can be a month to finish reading a book. But lately, it only took me four days to finish reading the book Germinal, by Emile Zola, which was 876 pages thick. A fiction book about the struggle of miners in the suburbs of Lille, France.

It occurred to me, sometimes we need times like now so we can use more time to read books. Ok, I think it's enough this time, and hopefully useful for Steemians.

Best regards,
@akukamaruzzaman
