An open inquiry to any building materials suppliers in Malaysia out there (doors, windows, lighting, cabinets, flooring, wall finishes, paint, piping, roofing, wiring and etc.). My architecture mentor had developed a building consultant app named MyFees that helps architects, engineers and quantity surveyors to calculate their fees, accounting and documentation for their projects. This is mainly targeting sole proprietor consultants which have less resource and want to go lean. Personally, I am impressed with the sleek and simple to use design interface made by his team.
The app has another segment with a list of different suppliers of different building components (which will be including yours if you registered). The app developer will give exclusive 3 to 5 brand per category so that it will not cause confusion for the consultants while doing a survey. Well, this is truly something helpful for the smaller firms and can be a good exposure for your company brand as it is effortless for the consultant to refer to the app to propose in their design.
The slots are with first come first serve basis. The fee to subscribe for the exclusive slot is RM2,000 per year (which will include their marketing team to help u push your brand as well). The breakdown will be RM1,000 for the registration and RM1,000 for the marketing fees. There is a super discount for the deal as the registration fee will be increased to RM4,000 (totaling up to RM5,000) for 2019. So, a good deal to get exposed to more consultant at a reasonable price.
The reason for it to have discount rate is that the app will be ready by Jan 2019 so as of now, they are finalizing the front end for both Android and IOS.
Fun fact:
The team had also approached 916 professionals ranging from architects, engineers, quantity surveyors to developers and even local authority on whether this app’s functionality is beneficial to the practicing professionals and whether it will make good exposure for the suppliers to be on the app. The obvious response is that large majority agrees that they will use the app for the functions it offers and that will indirectly benefit the suppliers who are on the app.

My personal take on this app business module is that the team is using suppliers’ fees to further improve the infrastructure for the professionals which also opens up bridges for the consultants to know more about the brands that had supported the business.
