Srna will become an assistant coach at Shakhtar
Former Shakhtar defender Dario Srna returns to the club after a year of playing for Cagliari, the Shakhtar's official website reported.
Dario agreed to join the coaching staff of the new Shakhtar's coach Luís Manuel Ribeiro de Castro. Luis headed the Donetsk club this summer after Paulo Fonseca’s departure to Roma.
Srna played for Shakhtar from 2003 to 2018, playing during this time a record 536 matches for the Donetsk team. There are 26 trophies with Shakhtar in the collection of Dario, including 10 victories in the Ukrainian championship and a triumph in the UEFA Cup.
Season 2018/2019 Srna played in Cagliari (28 matches in all tournaments), and at the end he said goodbye to the team. He had options to pursue a career in Italy, including Roma, led by Paulo Fonseca.
