Under the advice of @onnovocks I am going to try and find something to make a DIY video of some sort of project and edit it using the Shotcut video editing software and then drop it on Dtube and youtube. Has anyone used this to edit videos? Any advice would be greatly appreciated as this will be my first ever attempt at video editing.
Here is the first of many links he gave me to get me started.
He suggested this for a beginner like me. Wish me luck. Hopefully, I will have a project to start on in the next week or 2.
Thanks for the mention, and if you get stuck, feel free to hit me up for help even if I'm a kdenlive user. Resteem'd and looking forward to featuring the end result on DiyTube curation.

P.S. To save space, you may want to set your Camera for 30 fps (frames per second) or 25 fps. The higher frame rates are great for sports with good lighting, but the lower frame rates are adequate for a DIY video in low light (indoor light) condition.

Most likely it will all be shot with the camera on my phone. I don't have access to anything else.

There are YT tutorials for that also. In the YT search bar just type in ~ filming with your phone ~ and look for a video that applies to your phone (iPhone, Android, etc)
Another tutorial I like is this one. What he did in the video description was to list the time for each subject. So to reference a subject you go to "show more" and click on the blue time stamps to go straight to the footage you want/need without going through the rest.
