José Malavé
Born in Cumaná (Venezuela). Degree in Education with a mention in Spanish and Literature from the Universidad de Oriente (Venezuela). Master in Venezuelan Literature. Professor attached to the Department of Philosophy and Letters of the School of Humanities and Education of the Universidad de Oriente. Coordinator of Casa Ramos Sucre (1983-1993). Author of the books of poems Breviario de sombras and Oculta y próxima. He has published poems, essays and articles in magazines, literary supplements and newspapers of the country. He has developed an extensive work as an organizer and cultural promoter both in literature and cinema.

José has always helped us to improve our work by contributing his poetic, sensitive and profound vision of things. He is truly a master for everyone in Celf and it is an honor to have him on our editorial staff, where we will see him mainly in Espacio de Apertura and as curator of @celfmagazine.
Why do I write?
Writing is rooted in my life and person. My work as a writer goes back some 30 decades. I have written, I write, and I will continue to write, as long as life allows me, by a vital impulse (what Bergson called "élan"), a spiritual quest, an existential disposition. It is the answer to an expressive, exploratory and knowledge need. In the field of creation I have dedicated myself to poetry and essays; in the academic field, to literary and cultural research in general.
