May 30 Days Writing Challenge -If I Will Get 1000 STEEM Tomorrow, What Would I Do With It?

in challenge30days •  6 years ago

Hello,

As I mentioned yesterday, I will participate in the challenge of @dragosroua. Not every day but most of them. I write daily anyway but I want to support the challenge. More details about the challenge can be read here: 30 days writting challenge

Today's topic is what would you do with 1000 Steem that you would have gotten for free. The question seems simple at the beginning but when you are dealing with the Steem Blockchain you can see that the question is a little bit more and goes deeper.

There are 1000 Steem not 1000 Steem Power what you should convert into Vests, because the Vests always remain the same only the value of the Vests in Steem changes. I would simply divide the 1000 into 3 like following 300 Steem, 350 Steem and again 350 Steem.

With the first 350 Steem I would do a Power Up and delegate it to a bot as an investment. I have been delegating to @boomerang so far because of the terms and conditions, 100% of each round and 70% of the Curation Rewards are shaken out to the delegators. I do not know another one who gives more. I see Steem as an investment and business model of the future. It is a pioneer where the normal investors can invest money, not only the very technically affine people. I think that's extremely good, because without the normal investor, Steem would be worthless. Most people do not understand that the platform needs investors which buy Steem and every investor wants to get some profit out of his investment.

With the next 350 Steem I would make a power up again. This time I would delegate to a project that builds something or supports a group like the group of minnows. Here I choose projects from my environment. That may sound weird, but if I change myself and my environment in a better way that would trigger a chain reaction if only 10% of the people would do that.

The remaining 300 Steem I would park in an account that I have. Until the wallets arrive in December, they did not say which December at Steemfest, I park these Steem on another account. Why do I do this? Because I also want to stay liquid. If the Steem is on an unused account, I can withdraw it from there anytime and then use it. I believe in Steem and that only shows that I think that there will be high fluctuations until the price stabilizes a bit higher. I will try to sell at a high price and then buy again at a smaller value. I will then split the profit monthly in three as described here.

I'm a fan of the principle that you should not keep all your eggs in one basket and that you should always be prepared for the market to break in for a few days. I am not paranoia and take everything easy. I do not have to sell when the price is down.

Hallo,

You’re right Alex, the question is more complicated as it goes deeper into the blockchain , this I agree with you . So many things one would wanna do but as for me , I’d basically power up using promotional bots. Thanks

This is also a strategy. I used it at the start, now I've changed as I have grown to a certain point. Thank you for the continous commenting on my blog. :)

friend you seem to have everything coldly calculated, always thinking about investment, future and small fish, I think your project is very positive, I hope you get that gift, happy night

I try to have a plan to most of the things I do in my life. Also I try to help others on the way.

That's a very cool idea of dividing the 1000 STEEM. That's why I see it important to come in someone's hands who actually know what to do with this sum. :D

Thank you for the comment. I think that everyone shall be guided by common sense and try to think also on the long run. People usually go for the closer lower rewards rather than the much more bigger on the long run.

Do not keep all eggs in the same basket is basically in online marketing ... but it also counts how many eggs you have. I always learn something from you, the idea of dividing a larger amount into several tranches(for the future, I hope!). I'm glad I learned about this challenge, I'll check if I can participate (depends on conditions ..)

I think you can participate, even with a late start. Of course, if you have only one egg you can't divide it. I try to split also my income into different baskets and live to the same income as I had 5 years ago. I think it was the best decision not to take in account the raises.

Thank you for the reply. Yes, I will attend the topics where I have something to say. The way you manage your income is great, I am impressed!

So, after reading about this 30 days challenge, I went to @dragosroua page to read what is today's topic for the challenge. The topic is top 5 relevant witnesses on steemit. I realized I don't know much about witnesses and I can't write anything about it. I won't be writing but at least it gave me an opportunity to try and learn what witness is all about. Thank you as always for helping me to learn each time I read your post.
