Innovate no matter what you do!

It feels like “that’s not how it’s done” becomes a catchphrase during your childhood years, generally at school. This is where I’d like to say: so what?

I generally tell people to be creative. What if there is a theory? What if there is an exercise or a mechanism. Anything can be improved and everything changes. That’s the definition of evolution and without innovation or imagination we’d still be stuck somewhere in the middle of a field trying desperately to move a square wheeled cart.

Find out what people need and try to give a solution. If you have it, find the means through which to create it and tell the world about it. Don’t think out of the box; run circles around a box, jump over it, zig-zag it, anything that gets you ticking and passionate about your idea.

If you pay attention to what you feel in such a moment, you’ll understand that stubbornness is a big part of innovation. Take Jobs for instance: he had a tough time in the company at first, but he kept his high price in spite of everyone’s protest and he kept saying, kept believing that people will buy his product no matter what. And they did. Not only did they buy it, but it became a world-wide phenomenon where you see people pitching tents in front of Apple stores one week before their opening just to be first, just to get into the Apple spirit, just to get the feel of the brand and product because hey...it’s about experience as well and about how it makes them feel.

If others can experience a drop of your madness, a drop of your stubbornness and a pinch of your ambition then you are on the right track.

So please, do me a favor: don’t ever give up on an idea just because people fail to see beyond their boundaries. Don’t stop doing something because a couple of people said you couldn’t possibly succeed and that you are not right.

Keep fighting, keep innovating, keep falling in love over and over again with your “impossible” and wacky ideas and you’ll be on the right track. You know what they say: c’mon, live a little!
