Proud Mama Gracie, the Easter Egger hen, has hatched all of her chicks, can we get a round of applause? 12 for 12!! All healthy and beautiful and oooooh so cute. Here's an HD video I took of them earlier:
(2:07)
And a few close-ups for extra cuteness hahaha
And while we have the 4 Mothers in the coop as you saw in the video above, these girls are single and loving life in the chicken run, this is what I call a Chicken Cuddle Puddle!
And last but not least, I am a new Mom today of our first tomato of the year! HAHAHAHAHAAA FINALLY!!!!
I just love this time of year, the rose bushes are in full bloom now, and the fragrance is something I wish I could share with you here on Steemit. We have roses surrounding the whole chicken area, and that's all I can smell now, it's sooooo lovely, I can't help but have the biggest smile ever when I go see my flock~family...
Thank you for sharing in my joyous day with me :) I hope you enjoyed seeing the most beautiful part of my life!
I'll see you tomorrow,

Aww, they are sooo cute!
The roses look like nice rose hips in the fall, yes?

Yes, we get wonderful abundant rose hips, yet I'll admit I don't do anything with them. Do you have any reccomendations?

Yes, why of course I do ;) They have some of the highest vitamin C count you can find.
So dried whole, you can either brown bag them in a cool dark place for one year, or if you are sure they are completely dried (dehydrator style) you can keep them in ball jars with the air sucked out with a food saver, for up to 10 years.
if whole dried you can
You can eat the hips fresh, just be careful of the prickly innards.
You can make rose hip jelly with the fresh hips
Or you could box them up and send them to me ;)

Oooh my goodness, thank you!!!!!!!!!! I will definitely be brown bagging them and using for teas, I LOVE this idea, my husband and I are big tea drinkers, and I'm always eating vitamin C, 7000 mg a day when I start to feel sick, so this is a perfect way to get it without having to take the pill form! Appreciated @elew!!

:) you are so welcome! You can lay them out on screens to dry, so the air circulates, and just roll them around one or twice a day. Sun dried are the best...
If you see flies bugging them, a second screen on top can help

Ahhh thank you again for the tips! I was thinking they dry in the paper bag! DOH!!! I appreciate this further information. Sun drying should be a breeze, I'll set them up on a screen in the greenhouse, that should work hey?

Congratulations! Mama hens make the best incubators and brooders. Donna used to bring fertilized eggs home from the local shop and just stick them under whatever hen was broody and we'd always end up with a few new chicks.

Oooh that's wonderful that you would do that for your hens!! So many folks try and break the hen of their broodiness, I couldn't handle trying to do that,,,hahahahahahahaa obviously as you can see LOLOL....What kind of chicks would you usually hatch? As in, what breed.

Are you kidding? Donna got so excited when a hen went broody. She was like - free brooder, and we don't have to pay for electricity! We've had lots of breeds: Araucanas, Polish, Bantams, Silkies, Barred Rocks, those red ones. Then she goes all mad-scientist when we've got a rooster and lets them cross breed all over the place.
I've really got to get her posting on here. She got hit with a bad cold but we're hoping she'll start sharing her stuff soon.
