Tired and Worn Out

in christianity •  7 years ago  (edited)

Tuesdays for me are ridiculously long and tiring. My first class is cinematography and it starts at 9 a.m. I am in class until 1, then I have a break until 6 when I have another 4 hour class in Audio Production II until 10 p.m.

I am sure you can guess that by right about now (6:30) I am dog tired and ready to drop. Throw in the fact that the residents that I manage as well as my bosses continuously call and text me throughout the day, and I am not only ready to drop, I am about ready to scream!

Examples of what I mean...

This is the second semester in a row that my schedule on Tuesday has been morning until night. That means for almost 20 weeks now on Tuesday I have not been at the house at all on Tuesdays. My boss today texts me and asks me if I am at the house today! As he is sitting in the office right in front of a cork-board with my schedule pinned to it!

This is a part of the reason that I chose to give notice and move on from my job. I just feel that I am expected to be at my bosses beck and call 24-7 and he does not respect that I am a full time college student that needs to have time to study and complete assignments.

Don't get me wrong I am very thankful what our Ministry has given me. Heck it gave me a life! I also know I am an integral part of the ministry and my bosses depend on me, but I have to have a life too, and it has come time for that.

Then I got a phone call from a resident that has decided to move back in with his mother, at 46 years old. I guess I don't even know what to say about that. I mean this guy came in like every other resident, at the bottom of his luck and saying he was ready to change, but when it comes time to put in the work, he cuts and runs. The thing about this particular guy is, he had to move out of his mom's because he got a domestic violence charge against her!

Throw in trying to hunt for an apartment and making calls about that all day, and you can see that I am ready to drop scream and pull my hair out!

On a good point.

I did find an apartment today that I am going to look at tomorrow. It is very affordable and within walking distance from my school. I am really hoping it is something I can live with and I can get it because I really need to get into my own space soon so I gain a bit of sanity in my life. I will still be a staff member at the ministry and I will most likely sit on the Board of Directors, but I just can't be live in staff any more.

I also heard from the Program Director a the college radio station. He told me today that there has been some headway towards getting me hired on as a real employee and not just a volunteer. I had applied last semester and was denied because I have a criminal record. Hopefully this semester they will give me a chance.

So...

I am tired and sitting in class halfway learning how to run Pro Tools software like a professional doing my daily post for my beloved Steemit. I hope you guys can bare with me and be sympathetic to my lack of deep profound thoughts today. You guys are all great and I thank you for your support!
