Icy River.jpg

Detroit is the only city in the Contiguous United States where you drive south into Canada. This photo was taken from the elevator in the Renaissance Center, tower 400, up to my office. It was taken with my phone, a OnePlus 3.

It looks over the Detroit River into Windsor, Ontario, Canada. The surface of the Detroit River rarely freezes completely across, but we regularly have floating ice patches strolling along. Freighters continue to operate all year round and create the "streams" through the ice that can be seen here.
