Tuesday morning it was warmish, mid 40’s and not raining, so he got started early making the front porch steps. These are just temporary steps, probably for at least a year, until we can get the walkways and stone steps put in.

He’s also put a temporary deck on the porch, until next year. He got our son to bring in gravel to level the area, and he also brought us around a large stone for the bottom.

Then he set about putting up the rafters for the porch. About 10AM it started to mist, wet enough so his tools were wet, so he picked up and quit. About an hour later it stopped and cleared a bit so he went back out. He was able to work all afternoon and get all the rafters up.

I’d finished what I was doing and had a bit of energy mid afternoon, so I went out and swept up the last of the oak’s leaves.

Nice how the window framed the barn. We’ll enjoy the view now because there will someday be 3 walls in this space.

Wednesday is to be the last nice day for a long while. Not sure what he’s going to do, but I suspect it’s putting plywood up.
