As such operating system has its advantages and disadvantages. At the end and after all are products, and like any product, each offers a way to solve your problems.
If you want a stable system, you do not have to perform many tasks in another way, despite its high cost and software limitation. Choose MacOSX This system rarely shows any failure, but it has the disadvantage that the specific software may not be available or may cost you more to acquire it.
If you want to have the possibility of having a huge amount of applications and software available, including games and simulation software for anything. Choose Windows. This system is the most widely used in the world, and so is more software developed for the system. But the bad thing is that it is also what most hackers analyze for their attacks. You are more vulnerable
If you want to investigate an operating system, or if you want to have a little more control over your own system for a price of zero. Then choose Linux. It is free software and you do not have to pay for it to acquire it, you just have to download it. It allows you to do anything or system. The downside is that it is more unstable than the two previous systems, and to navigate in it, there is no more advanced knowledge of what you normally have to have.
If someone says that Windows is better than Linux, or Mac is above them, they are wrong. Each one is different and they are to satisfy us differently.

As a standard productivity desktop? Linux
As a gaming platform? Windows
As an infrastructure (DHCP, DNS, router, firewall, proxy, etc), print, database, file, or web server? Linux or FreeBSD though in certain circumstances Windows must be used (web application requires the Windows platform or it uses T-SQL and must be hosted on MS-SQL).
As an applicaion server? It depends on the applications it is hosting - either Linux or Windows.

Windows is still a requirement for mainstream software, but Google is coming with a desktop Linux release so I believe that'll change soon since it'll probably be supported by mainstream software too.
For everything other than mainstream software Linux is the best and a must in a lot of applications. You can do everything Windows does with Linux. Mac doesn't really bring anything extra to the table.

For me it has always been the Windows for its ease in its majejo. Linux has never called me the atention and the Mac is very restricted, that is, it is like the Iphone, most of its programs have to be of priority iphone and payments and that is something that limits a lot. Greetings friend

Well I heard from some friends that Mac is way more reliable and less subject to virus attacks than Windows. Most of the people I am dealing with are using the Apple based tools. I guess Mac is kind of the Lamborghini of the computer sector, even thought the background for the story differs between both.
Windows is kind of a frontrunner since Bill Gates was the first to create a system for computers. Steve Jobs may found some things to adjust and made a better sytem.
In terms of prices I guess that Mac is way more expensive than Windows, so it is also a budget matter.
I do not know much about Linux except that the system if free of charge and that every user with programming knowledge can contribute to improve the tools. The idea is excellent it itself and it might also have been one of the inspiration for the creation of Blockchains. Indeed, both are not belonging to a single person and everyone can help to improve the system. So the principle of a decentralized system is going to make its way.
Now it all depends if we want to go the easy way and give money to Apple and Windows or if we opt for some independence in using a de-centralized system like Linux. My asumption is that if we are looking for some kind of independence and security in different subjects Linux and Blochains can have a great future.

I think that if we take away fanaticism the answer is quite complicated today, because the three big OSs are very even. The answer to the question must take into account three aspects: needs, money and tastes. For the record, I speak as a domestic, non-professional user.
Needs: well here what one needs? In the domestic field I think that Mac and Linux are tied. Mac has the advantage of being a fairly closed ecosystem and allows very comfortable things like the AirPlay or the combination of Mac with iPhone, etc. But Linux, because it is open, also allows many more things. Another thing is in the professional field, where the needs of the person determine the option.
Money: here wins Linux from the street. Not only that it's free, but that any old computer you get Linux and run.
Tastes: by this I mean the way one has to work. If you're not interested in computer science at all and do not even know what an extension is, Mac wins. If you are minimally curious, even if you know little or nothing about computers, Linux will be good for you.
My experience: I went from Windows XP to Ubuntu. I tried some more distributions and I went to Mac. And after a year I went back to Linux. More than anything because Apple has things that I can not stand and Linux gives me incredible freedom, that is, I returned to Linux for my tastes and money.
