day 18 and you are all still playing?! AMAZING!!! Ive been absent from Steemit for a few days, so decided to drop by and give 5 minutes to get the words flowing again even though I'm not in the contest anymore :)
40% off is such a good marketing trick! It gets me every time. It's close enough to 50 that your brain tells you you're getting it half off, which is basically like free if you buy two. But am I really getting a discount? NO. That 40% off does not cut into the profit margins of the store, so in reality, I'm probably paying a fair price with 40% off but I'm not getting a deal. So when I pick up 4 things to get two almost free, I'm actually just 100% poorer. From now on I gotta start asking myself if I'd buy it at full price. If the answer is no, then the discount doesn't make it any better when I'm trying to save money.

Night came slowly as Jasmin watch the moon slowly rise int eh sky. It has been a long day for her and finding herself very tired at the end of the day she found herself out in the backyard laying in the grass just staring at the sky hoping her bones would feel the soil under her and take in the softness her body needed.
At work all day the place had gone crazy as 40% off was offered if new people came in to just look at the new cages that had been filled that very morning.
word had gotten out about the surprise so fast the shop didn't know what hit them.
Jasmin was on her feet, the screaming in the building was getting on her nerves in the first hour of the sale but she knew it would be a long time before she would be able to head home so she closed off her mind and head sown went about her job as a robot would. Yes Sir, yes Mam came out of her as easy as could be but if a person would have stopped to listen to her, really listen to her they would have known she was in a world of her own making.

Emily perused the 40% off rack In Nordstrom’s fur coat salon, wondering to herself why fur coats are still a thing. Aren’t those like, out of fashion? And like, thousands of dollars? And totally cruel. Whatever. She paused to think about the animals they used to be, and shuddered.
She tapped on her Fitbit to look at the time. One hour and eight minutes to go. She took a deep breath, trying to swallow the anxiety. She had already walked all around the department store, trying to kill time. She looked up at a faceless mannequin wearing a fur scarf, and headed toward the food court for another Orange Julius.
Fifty minutes later, Emily walked across the bridge to the movie theater, imagining the man she was about to meet. From the three pictures she had seen, she had determined that he was a normal kind of handsome, with dark hair and a square jaw covered in stubble. As she stood in the lobby unfashionably early, she shifted from foot to foot and tried to figure out what to do with her hands. The young woman working the concessions stand was watching her, undoubtedly wondering whether or not this poor woman was being stood up. Emily looked at her and gave her an awkward smile before she diverted her eyes.
A man walked through the door and looked straight at her, as both wondered if they were looking at the right stranger. He was shorter than Emily had expected, and a little bit more muscular too. The man was wearing an awkwardly formal suit and dress shoes, a fundamental mismatch with Emily’s strapless sundress and cork wedges.
He walked up to her. “…Emily?”

Nothing says honoring the sacrifices people made with days, years and lives than pushing a bunch of shit products that most often perpetuate the need for continued of that very same sacrifice . Work until your exhausted, get drunk, buy shit, that someone worked until they were exhausted to make , plastics and pollution and all of those word that we hear so often they barely register. As a business owner I just couldn't justify the manipulative, tone def, insensitive dismissiveness of 40% off sales during what we pretend are sacred times. I don't have much but i certainly don't need any more that badly.
