In between two evenings, Lara had spent a million naira at a casino. She believed that she had a right do whatever she wanted. Her father is a very rich man and she had free supply of cash to carry out anything she had in mind to do. And she followed the way of a spoilt child. Despite the admonition of caring friends and neighbours, she was determined to live life to the fullest according to the way she deemed fit. On this fateful day, after losing such amount of money she felt cheated and chose to react. But her reaction brought her at odds with wicked men of the underworld who do not mind killing anyone that crossed their path. They abducted her and took her away, fortunately for Lara, her father was contacted and a huge ransom was paid for her release. She came back abused and broken and began to reflect on the words of advice that she had always ignored. Amongst those pieces of advice she meditated on, the one that hit her the most was “a stitch in time saves nine”. ‘Hanging on to advice early could save one from a lot of pain’ she mused.
