OC Restaurant ignores stay-at-home orders and opens to full capacity. Customers rejoice -for now-.

I can't believe what i'm seeing. It is as if the last 6 weeks was quite literally all for nothing. The pain staking flattening of the curve, the coming up to six digit fatalities, and the sacrifices of millions of home bound depressed and out of work Americans, humbly respecting the health and safety of everyone else.

And all for what? For some restaurant owner in OC desperate to get business back above 10% of the usual, for fear of HIS 25 employees? What about the rest of the country? Does the whole country not have an obligation to each do their part to stem this pandemic to the point that we can all confidently say we can come out and feel safe to behave normally?

Are requirements for both staff and customers to wear masks really too much to ask? How about spacing out the tables, and limiting the crowds with some crowd control?

Are these people THAT deprived of normalcy that they throw out and disregard the attempt to slow down the spread in the last 6 weeks and just zero it all at once?

What are these people thinking? Perhaps it's along the lines of "I've survived this long, i'm healthy to pull through anything" .. but completely forgetting all the potential people they could spread it to in the restaurant.

"It's all about me and how I feel. If i'm fine, then that must be how everyone else feels too."

Is America great again, yet?

To be clear, I would have been fine if they just wore masks, spaced the tables out, and implemented some sort of crowd control, but clearly, the up-coming "easing" out of lockdown has been misinterpreted by these people as "back to normal", "just as usual."

I don't see anybody taking responsibility for the well being of others and that is why we're not truly coming out of this mess for a long while.

I suspect it's going to get ugly again in a few weeks.
