Where the hell were you people when *this* was a thing?

A little weird how we had 10 years of this with nobody saying anything and then we get one movie in which a Black woman critiques this and it's a national moral crisis pic.twitter.com/HVuxqln3dI

Still haven't seen Cuties and still don't intend to but the uproar over it is just getting ridiculous.

I’m sure the intention is to criticize the sexualization of children, but there shouldn’t be anyone on the other side of that question. We don’t need movies to tell us that shit that everyone agrees is wrong is wrong. We fucking know. This isn’t controversial. So why would we watch it? Except pedos who don’t care about the message.

“August, Osage County” did a way better job, managing to depict paedophilia, and the way you pathetic concern-trolling losers react (including punishing the victim and covering for the perpetrator) without depicting anything that might appeal to a pedo.

On the other hand, Steve Carell made a movie that unironically promoted the thing that Cuties is criticizing, and none of you people batted an eye. It was nominated for 4 academy awards including Best Picture, was a mega-box office success, and has a 7.8/10 on IMDB. No controversy is mentioned on its wiki page.

There is, somehow, a culture among a certain demographic in this country that has embraced paedophilia (rural white Trumpists), and your concern trolling now demonstrates that you’re not actually upset by paedophilia, you just want to pin it on evil secret elites to cover up your own guilt about facilitating it in your own neighborhoods. And houses.
