미사 어구가 많아 눈에 잘 들어오지 않던 책, 무슨 내용인 지 갈피를 잡을 수 없어 난해했던 소설책. 읽고 있다보면 어느새 책장을 덮을수 없던 책, 결말까지 긴장을 늦추지 않고 팽팽한 느낌, 결말을 보았을 때는 더욱 더 황당한 느낌.
A book that didn't come to my eyes because of the many phrases of mass, and a novel book that was difficult because I couldn't get to know what it was. A book that couldn't cover the bookcase when I was reading it, a taut feeling without slowing down the tension until the ending, and even more embarrassing when I saw the ending.
여주인공 카야와 테이트라는 남자, 그리고 체이스라는 남자, 이렇게 삼각관계를 중심으로 이야기가 펼쳐진다. 책은 내내 철저히 카야의 시선에서 서술되어있다. 다만 한가지 특이한 점은 카야에게 유리한 시선으로 기술되어 있다는 점이다. 거의 모든 사건들이 카야가 보고 느끼는 것들을 중심으로 서술되어 있다. 그래서 읽는 내내 카야의 감정에 집중하고 공감할 수 밖에 없는 구조이다. 스릴러의 요소를 갖춘 연애소설이랄까. 맘을 졸이며 보는 연애소설은 신선할 수 밖에 없다.

However, one peculiar thing is that it is described as a favorable gaze for Kaya. Almost all events are described around what Kaya sees and feels. So, it's a structure where you can only focus and empathize with Kaya's feelings throughout the reading. It's a love story with a thriller element. The love story that you watch with your heart is inevitably fresh.
카야는 습지에서 홀로 사는 외로운 소녀이다. 테이트는 그녀에게 다가와준 첫번째 남자이고, 테이트가 떠났을 때 체이스라는 두번째 남자가 나타난다. 테이트는 사실 떠난 것이 아니다. 잠시 떨어져 있을 뿐이었다. 카야는 그것을 몰랐다. 나는 카야로부터 잠시 떨어져있는 테이트의 심정도 이해가 갔다. 습지의 야생마같은 소녀를 감당할 수 없을 것 같은 막막함을 느꼈겠지. 그 동안 체이스라는 거친 남자가 카야의 마음을 뒤흔드는데, 체이스는 카야를 이용하는 나쁜남자계열이었고, 카야는 자신을 가지고 노는 체이스때문에 한참을 괴로워한다. 카야는 테이트와 체이스 사이에서 외롭고, 힘든 나날들을 보낼 수밖에 없다. 다시 말하지만, 카야는 습지의 오두막에서 사는 외로운 10대 소녀다...

아름다운 습지의 풍경이 그려지는 묘사가 많은데다가, 책 표지가 노을이 지는 주황색이어서 그런지 쓸쓸한 느낌. 그리고 그 습지에서 자연을 느끼고, 또 외로움에 사무치는 카야의 심정이 조금은 전해져오는 듯 했다. 중간중간 시도 나오는데, 나는 시를 좋아하는 편이지만 짧막한 3,4줄 정도의 시에서는 큰 감흥을 느끼지는 못했다. 그 중 제일 아름답다고 생각했던 시만 살짝 남겨두었었다. 카야가 테이트를 그리워하는 마음이 차분하면서도 간절히 드러나있다.
There are many descriptions of the beautiful wetland landscape, and the book cover is orange in sunset, so it feels lonely. And it seemed a little bit of Kaya's feelings of feeling nature and loneliness in the wetland. It comes out in the middle of the attempt, but I like poetry, but I didn't feel much inspiration in the short poems of 3 or 4 lines. Among them, I only left a little bit of the poem I thought was the most beautiful. Kaya's longing for her Tate is calm and earnestly revealed.
다시 한번 말하지만, 카야는 습지에 홀로 사는 외로운 소녀이다. 돈이 없어 먹을 것을 구하기도 힘들어, 직접 주변에서 음식도 체취한다. 엄마가 도망가버리는 바람에 요리는 더더욱 젬병이다. 외로운 카야의 마음이 내 마음으로 전해져 조용한 소용돌이 휘감듯 사무칠 때쯤, 카야는 모든 기대를 뒤집어 버린다. 하지만 왜일까. 카야의 마음과 행동이 결국에는 너무나 이해가 되어서 서글펐다. 나도 저랬을거야, 나도 어쩔 수 없었을거야하는 생각이 들었다. 팽팽한 긴장감이 끝나자마자, 마음이 먹먹해지는 독보적으로 오묘한 장르의 소설이었다.

Her mother is running away and her cooking is even worse. By the time her lonely Kaya's heart is passed on to her heart, and her quiet whirlwind swells, Kaya overturns all her expectations. But why? It was sad that her Kaya's heart and her actions eventually understood so much. She thought that I would have done that, and that I could not have helped it. As soon as her tense sense of tension was over, it was a novel of a uniquely subtle genre that her mind was crushed.
