Self Inquiry

in discussion •  7 years ago

Thoughts about past and future consumed rawdawg.

Self referential internal narrative about past failures, an uncertain future, and an overall feeling of lack, sadness/regret.

These thoughts were all about "me".

I, me, my thoughts. . . when investigated one realizes that most if not all thoughts have some form of attachment linked to this I, me, or my. . .

In "my" it was an incessant stream of negativity which consumed everyday existence.

This last for about 13 years. . Until i was introduced to a "teacher" whom introduced me to the teachings of Ramana Maharshi.

Self inquiry proved useful via persistent practice any time thoughts about past or future occurred. A simple yet powerful question, Who am I? Asked with a deep curiosity.
This has been utilized for the last 7 years.

Many realizations have manifest, but overall a more peaceful serenity beyond thought. A deeper understanding and an unknowing/unraveling of all this being thought to be true.

Would like to hear your thoughts about meditation and/or how you cope with the ever clever ego?

Thanks for listening! Thanks 🙏
