If anyone wants to be my secret santa this year I could really use one of these. This little baby is an on car adjustable restrictor plate for race cars. It allows you to have a car with full power on a hooked up track but then you can turn the knob in and cut the air flow to the motor and pull some power out of the car when the track slicks of and gets slippery.

Remove that outside adjust and insert a nozzle there and sneak a line into the car to a small bottle of Nos ;-)

This piece is actually to take power away when the track does not have enough traction for our motor. On a tacky track our 600 hp moves us out good but when the track slicks off we would love to be able to dial the power down 150 hp or so. Then we could flat foot it more than trying to pedal it for traction all the time.

What a cool piece!

I think we will probably end up making our own down at the machine shop. Or well we will give it a try anyway. I want to make ours so that it is adjustable from the cockpit. That one there can only be adjusted in the pits and not on the fly. Our track we race on gets very slick towards the end of the night and out a mod engine is putting out about 600 hp so tunning it back some will be welcome a lot of nights in the feature race.

Ok so im confused, your title says its for a carbureted motor? It looks like an adapter plate between a quad carb and intake. Or maybe a plate for the throttle body? Also you say its only adjusted from the pit, is it adjusted by hand?

it is a 1 inch tall spacer that mounts between the carburetor and the intake manifold. by turning that knob it moves 2 plates in the middle that make the air holes smaller or larger so that you can restrict the air and fuel the engine can take in. The 2 plates slide in and out. By turning that knob you can actually turn it down to make the holes all 1/2 the size they are if you had it fully open.
