Do you think 2.5 free downvotes per day is toxic for STEEM?

I've been thinking and commenting about this for a while. What really changed everything for me was this fiasco

I got downvoted because I don't downvote people

Luckily this got the attention of @crypto.piotr and now more people are talking about it. If these things continue, few bad whales and orca are going to ruin the platform for a lot newcomers.

It's too much!

We should get rid of free downvotes

Dear @d-zero

Interesting choice of topic buddy. I'm not sure if you've noticed but my latest has been heavily downvoted. It seem that still many powerful users do not like hearing about 'downvote abuse' :/

Anyway where did this idea of of 2.5 free downvotes a day came from? I don't use dpoll so I can only write my reply here:

There are some people with a downvote fetish. Those few accounts that downvoted you are a familiar bunch. That's just how DPoS work. The free downvotes were campaigned for EIP by several big whales including trafalgar + traf accounts (I think he had another account as well). It was a stupid idea we need to get rid of. We need flags. But they should cost as much as upvotes. There needs to be a balance to this world.

If used for what it was meant for.
Luckily you got the attention? How about all the others with lower reps and earnings as you? Do not play the victim. We are all victims of manipulative rich voters who do not care about breaking your neck and rep within two days.
Where were you as all those people wrote about it?

@crypto.piotr It all is confusing.
It is not the only person being downvoted, we all are.
Downvotes are part of this system now and in some cases they are fine.
Plagiarism and spam and bad content (a link and that's it, I call it the easy way).

We all are upset if we get a downvote and many wrote about it but 10% of what is earned here is way less as 10% of not even earning 0.20 and your reputation is broke, back to 0 within two days time. That happened to a group and none of the bigger accounts cared about it neither did the communities these people join.

If you have a high rep and earn so much why make a scene about those 10% you lost?
