The sunrise was beautiful this morning, I woke up to my Shaman dogs awaiting breakfast and my son Reef's sweet bright shining face 😊
Today was the day to make Grandma Rose and Grandpa Frank's sauce for tomorrow's Christmas dinner. I still remember them both teaching me how to make the marinara together in the kitchen of the red gingerbread house in Hillsdale, New Jersey.
The red gingerbread house seemed like a fairy tale to me when I was little. It would snow and feel so magical and wonderful. We would fly out from Ojai for Christmas and have huge 10 course Italian dinners with all the family on Christmas Eve. My grandpa built this house for my grandma after moving the whole family from Brooklyn, NY and he still lives there today at 94.
Last year I cooked the 7 fishes Italian dinner and it took me a month to plan, this year I am just so grateful to be safe and warm! The sun was beautiful today and the clouds made fun waffley patterns in the sky.
I found a juicer in the house we are staying at and was so excited to make carrot, beet, celery apple juice for everyone! Mmmmmm, delicious 😋
My dad, Finn and I went up to our house just to chill, clean, pick up some things and to see the beautiful sunset on the Topa Topa mountains, WOW 🙏
As I drove down into town I noticed someone had hung this awesome poster of a phoenix on the corner of our old hood Golden West. Thank you, I needed that 💜💜💜
