I think a big part of the electric car issue is the range and price point of buying a car with good range. It is hard to take a road trip in an electric car other than a Tesla with their super charger network. I have my Model 3 reservation and will not mind the range since I do most of my travel local. If I do go on a road trip, I will not mind taking a 30 min rest ever 3-4 hours to charge.
