I'm doin fine now, I keep steeming as usual after the RC full yesterday and try to keep my stage of engagement as usual, won't comments under 40 characters and choose not to comment if I found it not so interesting to put up.quality over quantity and it would be good if I can collide the quality and quantity.. hehehe. I really hope to see you back @glenalbrethsen with your long and insightful comments, the HF20 doesn't seems stop people from spam comment at all, LOL.

I'm glad all is well, at least on STEEM anyway. No fun sitting there not being able to do anything while you watch others posting and commenting.

Quality and quantity colliding would be awesome.

Well, I'm here for the moment. Who knows what tomorrow will bring, or for that matter, the rest of the today. But I'm working on another week of engagement, so we'll see where it all leads.

If the spam comments are still around, then HF 20 wasn't that necessary, because all of what we just went through was to stamp that out. Probably not helping that everything with resource credits is 90% while the patch lasts. I'll be interested to see how long they go with that, and whether or not they choose to ease out of it or just pull it completely.

Somehow.. I think the new RC system won't stop the bots from spamming and many accounts still posting more than 4 posts a day without interactions and crappy posts... but at least, the forky day has shown us the real engagers and steemians 😁 nothing can stop human to keep steeming.

Would love to see you with the green mark each week, and I'm struggling to drain my RC because not so many interesting posts lately.

There are a couple of posts, one from Asher, actually, which seem to indicate while they've not been stopped entirely, the spam accounts are being slowed down quite a bit. They obviously took advantage of the quick power up that took place, along with the 10 x boost from the last patch, but then quickly ran out of resource credits after that.

So, since Steemit Inc made the last change to accommodate activity by the lower SP accounts who actually are human and not spammers, they still have some life, but won't be anywhere near where they were before, as long as their SP remains below at least 50 SP, and in most cases, that probably won't be anywhere near enough to do what they've been doing.

Hopefully, that's what we'll all be seeing as this new fork goes on, but if not, then the removal of the 10 x booster patch may come sooner than later.

Well, thank you for wanting to see me higher up on the list. It might help your RC draining if I were to actually get back into a posting routine. With all that's gone on around here and in my life the lat seven weeks or so, I'm afraid I'm not nearly at the production level I was.

I guess we'll see what this week brings. No bad surprises would be nice. :)

stop worrying about the RC.. I failed draining my RC again, I put many comments today, but the RC approximately enough for a hundred of comments, a hundred of votes and a hundred of transfers/power up.. LOL, thanks God I still have the SP delegation from Asher and Matt, I'm gonna need that to get back to the green mark list.. LOL, just let us take advantage of this situation, more deep engaging better then just random comments, I don't aim for the prize anymore.. I'll take it as bonuses for being loyal on Steemit, I found many wonderful and important information easily now, maybe because some of the posters on Asher's list a bit slower.

@cicisaja, the scores are reduced because of the number of comments in my humble opinion. Howdy janton used to have 1200 - 1400 comments. Now he and anybody else has more less due to the mess of this week.

Awesome Asher! Its great to see the normalcy return and your league results certainly gives us that feeling :) ...

Congrats to @janton and @glenalbrethsen for continuing to keep setting the standards for everyone to follow! This past week will go down as probably one of the toughest weeks for a long time, and you both shined like the stars you are! Awesome job :)

I came out of the gate pretty good on Monday, but then—well, you know—and the next thing I know, I'm just trying to get myself motivated again. It's like, dude, stop messing with my mind!

At any rate, it's nice to get into the Top 3 again, and maybe this week things can just settle down so I can settle in. Not holding my breath, though. I find too many things derail me. I don't want to be derailed. I want to stay on the rails. Rails are good. :)

Well, thanks for the mention. The rocking on my part is probably by default, since so many weren't able to interact like you normally would even after Tuesday's issues got fixed. Anyway, I'm hoping for a full week of just getting out there and doing. Then we can see what happens after that. Janton's probably rejuvenated and chomping at the bit after all the forced time off. He'll probably exceed all of his normal numbers just because of all of the unused energy the last few days.

If you see something glowing all the way from Texas, that's him, setting typing speed records. :)

"Many"? Well, that will definitely be something, unless janton manages to actually run out of RCs. At any rate, I'm going to need to pick up the pace from here on out since yesterday was about half what I did last Monday. As long as we're not in for any surprises, I should be able to improve on what I did the rest of last week.

So, we'll see, but I'm not counting on anything at this point. According to my math, I need to be up in the 600 comment range in a week at least, and where I am now, I'm not going to be anywhere near that. :)

Characters counts definitely matter, but there is a balance between that and PS and CR, too. Comment counts are more of a consequence of who you talk to and how deep you comment.

So, as you said, we'll see. I'm not expecting a surprise this week, though. That would be great, but I'm not having any better of a day today than I did yesterday. Need to figure this out, though. :)

I'm impressed that I was able to get back into the top 10 since it's normally a close group. I can't remember if it was like you dead last on the list or two up from the bottom, but I did make it 3 times to the list. I don't want him worried, @themanwithnoname. I want him calm, cool and collected and doing his thing. Without a care in the world, safe in the knowledge that he alone stands atop the engagement league mountain. He starts getting worried, then there's no telling how many points he'll score and then it will just plain be impossible to ever topple him, unless he flat out decides he's had enough. :)

Oh, and congratulations on making both lists! I haven't seen my name on their for a long, long time. I started to pay attention to it after that and fell off completely. So apparently looking at it makes your name go invisible. I'm pretty sure some form of physics would support that theory. :)

That's a good point. I think we should all take the week off so his score just looks stupid-high and he's embarrassed by it. Then he'll start taking time off and we'll be able to swoop in and win it. Probably not me, but maybe you could.

I changed my auto-votes to line up with HF20. Before I was voting earlier so my favorite authors would get an extra boost. Since that boost now goes to the general rewards pool, I figure that I might as well get that curation, so I moved it back.

I don't doubt that your theory is correct. As soon as a baseball player or golfer starts thinking about their swing, it gets all messed up. I think the same applies to the curation league. ;)

I think it's a good call to move the auto-votes back. No sense in my mind whatsoever of sending it back to the rewards pools only for someone else who you weren't voting for anyway to end up with it somehow. One step forward and two or three back. Why we can't just have it go where it's supposed to go without jumping through hoops is beyond me, but I'm not a rocket brainchain scientist. :)

Wait. Did we just cross the comment streams? I think that's bad. Very, very bad.

I figured if it were written in Ye Olde English it would sound better, only it's kind of a psuedo-Ye Olde English, or maybe even a neo-Ye Olde English. The point is, it kind of swerves in and out of it.

Okay, we could call it punishable by almost death. That way, there's still a chance of revival if the poor contract breacher (In this case, I was mostly referring to unannounced chicanery by Steemit Inc et al, seeing how you should be able to bequeath and dis-bequeath as you see fit) were to fall within the magical healing range of Miracle Max.

Now that I think of it, I really should have added some eths to this. I think it would have been more proper, and thus more official, had I said bequeatheth. And maybe thrown in some thees, thous and thuses.

Great to see that you got the post out as usual. Bad week for myself but to be fair I've been fairly lazy and then the hardfork hit. Congrats to all the people who made it to the top of the charts and surprisingly or not it is a lot of the same names regardless.

It will be interesting to see if the new resource credit system has any effect going forward. I know there were some issues for the smaller accounts activity at the beginning but hopefully they have been resolved at this stage.

Time for a reboot myself and get backup to the green spots in the chart.

Yeah, isn't that something. Mindset changed in an instant. For the time being, I think we don't have to be constantly monitoring our RC status, but at some point, if this is going to be worth changing from bandwidth, the 10 x bonus patch will have to removed. The question is, do they do it slowly, or do they rip that bandaid off all at once. :)

Have you read the latest steemitblog post yet? The one in blue at the top of the page right now? :) I ask because it sounds like Steemit Inc wants to transition to some kind of subsidized deal where we're all participants, and them, not so much.

You might see what they said differently. At any rate, keeping as many people functioning as possible while keeping the spammers minimized is going to be the best option, however that happens. Not much reason to go through the royal annoyance of the past week just to end up where we started.

I get the same idea. But in many ways, it's like the days of old with the 'bandwidth limit exceeded' message. At this time, many larger accounts delegated to keen looking new users so they could interact.

So far, I've seen at least 5 posts offering the same service - SP (for resource credits) to kickstart a new account. Ideally, we need people checking out the #introduceyourself tag and listing the potential real people. Under the current (and now quite generous) ruling, 30 delegated SP would give an account the ability to post, with at least 20/30 comments a day. For me, that is plenty.

I feel that the first few weeks, like in the past, a new users time should be spent reading and learning. At this point, a good sort should have worked out what tags to open up with, asked some reasonable questions, and be ready to claim 2/3 SP from their first post. From this, they could be added to a list of people who could well use a 20/30/40 SP delegation wisely, and in a month have enough to interact 'enough' on their own two feet.

The merits of this approach is that the shit gets ignored and these people need to invest to spam. Those giving/receiving delegations, potentially form a long term bond, which in turn should lead to better retention rates and a stronger community.

I'm going to have to call @davemccoy and @indigoocean in again here. I suspect you guys are still in disagreement with the whole affair, and perhaps wish for a post from myself explaining my stance, but the above thread pretty much covers it.

I will happily delegate to anyone involved in the Engagement League who has having trouble interacting as much as they wish, and if new users are put forward to me following a reasonable review and perhaps some monitoring by the person who puts the account to me, I'll do the same.

Before, the door was wide open to our house, now we have a little more control on who we let in. Not much, but at least we can ask them to wipe their feet first.

I replied to you on this on your post at length, but bottom line, I think we're going to need to see in the data whether this really hurts growth (relative to how new user retention already was, which I know as already pretty low), or whether we do in fact wind up simply attracting a more dedicated crowd.

What's interesting about all of this is, I'm not totally of a mind that everyone should be able to just walk in. I think it means more when people do have skin in the game. The problem becomes determining how much, and in my mind, at least a part of the mission of STEEM is to give opportunities to those who would not otherwise have one.

So, in saying what I've been saying, it's because we've had people here working under the assumptions, misplaced or misunderstood as they may be, that if they could and desired to put in the time to rise to the top of the leagues, they could. Struggling with bandwidth was still happening for a brief period when I came in. I basically bought my way out of it, though. That's not an option for a lot of people here, because they've been shown the "free" part of "freemium" and rarely the rest.

That said, I don't think any of us have to clean up this mess. I think it should be left squarely at the feet of Steemit Inc and those individuals who have taken it upon themselves to lie about what STEEM is. I also think each one of us need to be responsible for our own situation and decide what we're going to do with them. We're playing under new rules now, and we can either accept the new reality they impose, find ways to improve our lot—however that happens—or we can walk away.

Those of us who look to continue on don't want any more of a mass exodus than what's already happened, but nor should we feel obligated to keep people here somehow. The community can certainly come together to help one another out, but that needs to be left up to each individual to determine what they might do or not do.

Yes I still disagree Asher! You are amazing and a wonderful person, so my disagreement is definitely not with you as a person though. ;)

I think the concept that people need "help" from someone bigger to make a post or comment or vote a witness or anything that should be free, will turn people off. It has turned me off. I came here because I thought it was a place that people could earn over time, but be social in the process. Now there is a barrier to entry and you need permission from a gatekeeper to even speak your mind.

I don't think this is about spam either, I think its about money. Leasing the RCs is going to be another form of income. The spam issue is nothing compared to the negativity that people are feeling at the low end.

And your analogy about letting people into your house is not conducive to having the masses show up. You can't get the masses to come by your home and screen them one by one. So if you want to keep it a small niche with a few that enter your home, then that analogy is perfect. If you want millions to show up, then you should expect some that get in that you don't like. (and isn't that what flags were for?)

I know you have your opinion and I fully trust that you have great intentions. I think time will tell which of us is right. You have been here longer and I respect your heart, and for the record I do hope you're right and I'm wrong. I will be happy to eat some crow on this one!

How about yourself? Things getting back to what they were before the hard fork as far as what you could do then versus what you can do now? I hope so. The less lingering effects, the better.

Wow, certainly a scaled down landscape! But a big congratulations to the unstoppable @janton who obviously takes any kind of difficulty or setback in stride. And thanks @abh12345 for running the show, in spite of (I am sure) having lots of witnessy stuff to deal with, this week!

It'll be interesting to see how things pan out this week.

The whole ball of wax certainly had its effects on my own enthusiasm... I did sneak into the table by the proverbial whisker (in 99th place!) but even that felt like heavy going.

Not sure if this is a real "thing" or my imagination: I had a delegation that ended during the HF.20 refresh, and it seemed like my slowly recovering VP took another major hit when some 400-odd delegated SP left my account... then maybe, the second sudden loss of VP was just part of the overall reset. Anyone else experience anything like that?

Either way, I plan to keep going forward, in my somewhat "reduced" state... it was nice to be a Minnow "in name only" for a while, though!

Unfortunately it seems that delegations system needs a little work. Hopefully it is only going to be a temporary thing, but right now it does not work well at all especially on the recalling (cancelling) a delegation. When a delegation is given, then the receiver should get an instant RC and Vote mana boost. When a delegation is removed, they receive an immediate depletion of Vote Mana disproportionate to the amount of Vote Mana they had before the removal of the Delegation. Or that is the way it looks. Now this could just be a problem with Delegation received before the HF, but not sure. And Yes it has happened to several people including Asher himself. It does not only affect smaller account, @apolymask had a large delegation from just before the HF, then had it removed after the HF. He has 5,138 of which he has 2000 delegated out, and a 500 VM delegated for about 3100VM balance. I am not sure but I think the prefork delegation was about 5000 SP, thus doubling his Vote power/mana. When it was removed his Vote mana crashed to less than 4%. That Should not have happened, there has been a Git-hub request sent in to have the issue looked at.

Yes as bashadow says, I have suffered the same issue. 4000 and then 4500 left my account following the hardfork and they really battered my SP. I've just reached 80% and one more day with minimal voting should do me.

I thought the League would look very different this week, but it seems you cant keep a good engager down! This next week should see scores rise again.

Some sad but not to sad numbers. Two days of pretty much no interactions was telling, as steem blockchain was slowly coming back we all managed to get a little bit of activity out there. For my part I know it was mostly raging against the machine type comments, but I think some of them were needed. I did get to comment on a few of the post of those that I follow, and on a few new user post, there was one day it seems that the only people that were able to post were Orca's and brand new people. So a few brand new people got comments from me, but that is not unusual.

On the delegation issue, there has been a git-hub investigation request sent in, it may just have to do with Pre-HF delegation only or it may be with all delegations. I expect over the course of the next few weeks we will see a few other issues pop up.

It does feel good though for things to sort of still be on the way back to normalcy, my vote mana is almost back into the 90% range, it does not matter I am still trying to at least vote on content if not as many comments as I used to, hopefully comment voting will get back to a normal for me also soon. Way to hang in there all, and welcome back to a little bit of normalcy.

I dropped quite some places, but the entire HF20-thing confused me so much that I spent more time doingothe stuff and spent less time on SteemIt.

I'm still not entirely back on my feet; for some reason, SteemIt FEELS different. It's like I need to find my balance again. I lost a bit of the feeling that this is 'home'.

I guess I'll be fully adapted again soon - at least I hope so.

@abh12345, right after I started reading your 'Get to know me' post, everything was brought up to speed again here. Didn't make it further than the second article yet. But I've got it bookmarked - I definitely plan on reading the other articles too. It is nice to get to know more about the man behind the database wizard ;0)

Am still trying to get the hang of the changes. Last week was hard for most of us with SPs lower than 150 I think. Couldn't do much from Tuesday until about Friday. Can't imagine what it is like for those who has less than 50. With the RCs now, I guess we'll need to plan for our comments and posts and upvotes? Lets see. There is still much to be done here! I noticed a comment can range between 1200M to 2800M or even more than 3000M, even for a 1 or 2 liner comment. Still trying to see if there is a pattern, though am not sure if it is worth tracking yet 😄. Probably not but it is pretty fun to track at the moment. Haha.

Numbers are going to be off the engagement charts this week with the 100 steem-bounty prize offering this week. Just a prediction!

I'm having a lot of fun making comment offerings on the various bounties being offered. Hopefully people don't consider that trolling to just comment for the prizes. I think it still brings out a positive spirit, even if people are only positive to earn money. That's what I expect from the person who I buy coffee from, a hot, tasty drink, and a cheery smile. They do it for the money, and I'm happy to pay them. Why not expect the same delightful customer service from professional comment writers too?

I guess it paid off to remain active this week! While it is great to see my name up there, the real gain has been learning so much from the community this week as we adjusted our knowledge of the ecosystem and adapted to it while painful for most. This initiative has me so engaged as it continues to set the bar for me! I have a high bar now that I have cracked the Top 10!

Congratulations on breaking into the top 10. I guess we will find out next week if that was due to a rise in your engagement, or a HF 20 induced fall in the engagement of others. Either way, well done!

I have a question regarding commenting. What's the League's policy on commenting in two languages, I mean if someone always writing the same comment in two languages to everyone, even though they don't understand the second language, most likely! Is that cheating? How is that counted? It is cheating in my humble opinion! But that's just me!
I speak four languages, can I reply and comment in four languages in the same time? Would that be cheating? It would in my humble opinion! But that's just me again!
Once a spammer, always a spammer!
I want a reply!!! I'm angry! If this cheater remains in the league, I'm out!
