Since Christmas is over and there's a lot of waste coming up, many people are asking themselves: What happens to our household waste?
Will he be separated? Stored in landfills or even burned?

In Austria, about 1.4 tonnes of residual waste accumulate annually and much of it could be avoided!

What belongs in the residual waste?

Basically, all waste in the residual waste that can not be collected separately and are free of hazardous ingredients. Disposal of residual waste is subject to a charge and depends on the volume of containers provided.
Werstoff are usually disposed of separately with the separate collection. Consistent waste management and waste separation reduce residual waste and can bring significant savings.

What happens to the residual waste?

In Austria, more than 2/3 of the residual waste is currently incinerated in waste incineration plants. 5% will be sorted out as waste and recycled.

What is collected separately?

The organization of the waste separation is the responsibility of the municipalities or the waste associations themselves. This may be a reason why there are differences in the separation of waste.

The following recommendations should be collected in every household and do not belong in the residual waste:

• biowaste
• Paper / cardboard
• recycled glass
• Scrap / dose
• Plastic packaging / PET bottles
• hazardous materials
• old clothes
• Styrofoam
• Electrical appliances

If everyone is able to follow these guidelines a bit, we are all together to avoid a lot of residual waste that is being burnt. Ultimately, we only harm the environment!

Wunderschönen guten Abend und Frohe Weihnachten euch allen!

Da ja Weihnachten ist und da besonders viel Abfall aufkommt, fragen sich viele: Was passiert eigentlich mit unserem Hausmüll?
Wird er getrennt? In Deponien gelagert oder gar verbrannt?

In Österreich fallen jährlich ca. 1,4to Restmüll an und vieles davon wäre vermeidbar!

Was gehört in den Restmüll?

Grundsätzlich gehören all jene Abfälle in den Restmüll die nicht getrennt gesammelt werden können und frei von gefährlichen Inhaltsstoffen sind. Die Restmüll entsorgung ist kostenpflichtig und von Volumen der bereitgestellten Behältern abhängig.
Werstoffe werden mit der getrennten Sammlung meist kostenfrei entsorgt. Konsequente Abfallvemeidung und Abfalltrennung reduzieren das Restmüllaufkommen und kann eine deutluche kostenersparnis bringen.

Was geschieht mit dem Restmüll?

In Österreich werden derzeit mehr als 2/3 des Restmülls in Müllverbrennungsanlagen verbrannt. 5% werden als Altstoffe aussortiert und recycelt.

Was wird getrennt gesammelt?

Die Organisation der Abfalltrennung obliegt den Gemeinden bzw. den Abfallverbänden selbst. Das kann ein Grund dafür sein das es bei der Mülltrennung Unterschiede gibt.

Folgende Avfälle sollten in jedem Haushalt gesammelt werden und gehören nicht in den Restmüll:

• Bioabfälle
• Altpapier/Karton
• Altglas
• Altmetalle/Dosen
• Kunststoffverpackungen/PET Flaschen
• Problemstoffe
• Altkleider
• Styropor
• Elektrogeräte

Sollte jeder in der Lage sein diese Vorgaben ein wenig zu befolgen, sind wir zusammen stark um sehr viel Restmüll, dass verbrannt wird zu vermeiden. Letztendlich schaden wir nur der Unwelt damit!
