CHICKEN SHASHLIK RECIPE - EASY RECIPE

in food •  7 years ago

Today we will be doing chicken shashlik recipe. Its really healthy, vibrant, easy and delicious meal. Not only it looks great, but tastes super yummy, juicy and rich in flavours.

Chicken shashlik is a very popular chicken recipe. Chicken pieces are weaved on skewers and then either they are fried or grilled on on hot charcoal.

Try this with other veg too like mushrooms and baby corn. You can also cook this on a barbecue - just make sure the chicken is cooked thoroughly and don't use any leftover marinade to brush the cooked chicken with.

Shashlik is basically like a shish kebab, which translates to skewered meat and is a dish that was popular in central and South Asia.

But it also became really popular in Soviet Union times, and we have this in Latvia all the time. This is a perfect recipe for Ligo ( Midsummer Latvian Holiday) coming up! Here is a very simple chicken shashlik recipe.

Ingredients
3-4 chicken breasts
1 onion
2-3 tbsp of sour cream
1-2 tbsp of soy sauce
pinch of turmeric
pinch of paprika
pinch of salt
pinch of pepper
pinch of chicken spices ( can be a mix of everything you like, nutmeg, garlic powder, chilly)

Directions

Step 1 : Cut your chicken into small pieces ( like cubes) make sure they are even sizes.

Step 2 : Cut your onion into circles

Step 3 : Add salt, pepper, paprika, turmeric, sour cream , soy sauce and mix everything together.

Step 4 : Place in the fridge for 2-3 hours to marinate.

Step 5 : Use wooden skewers and start placing chicken on each skewer, start with chicken, then onion, then chicken and onion and repeat until you run out of chicken.

Step 6 : I am using a stand from my microwave, but you can use your grill or any normal tray. Place your chicken and cook it for 45 min at 180 C / 350 F.

Step 7 : When chicken has become golden colour its ready, serve with salad, fresh tomatoes and enjoy!

It would make my day if you could give me some feedback

Thank you. Do not use this site as it has been stolen by @jennswall @finleyexp ! If I get it back I will contact you. Previous support most appreciated. A friend is posting this for me. X

This is a lie. The @get-baking account has not been stolen.

Absolute joke. These two recon I have asked them to do work of 5,500 Euros in 3 months. Not likely when I needed every penny to buy my house. I even sold my Audi Q7 car to do this. I am also an ex Applied Computer Science teacher and Head of Department. Why would I pay them to do this amount of work on Steemit development? I can and have done it myself. It really is so pathetic just to try and scare me into not persuing the fraud committed against myself which I am involving the police here in Spain. A full history will be my first post on my new site. I will forward it to all my followers. Please view this pathetic attempt to explain their actions. @allasyummyfood The @get-baking account is being held in lieu of payment for services rendered from March 2017 to present. The outstanding debt falls just under 4000 euros.

I do not make it a policy to speak against others. I had continued to help this person even after the initial slander was introduced to the community of Steemit, but in this case I feel the need to defend these accusations with the proof that I have at hand.

Here is the link to the outstanding bill: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1-jkKuiB-6vmR4I_UVDGijb3960dUrL37qjbtA8ZVZcw/edit?usp=sharing

Mmmmm @allasyummyfood that looks good! I order this a fair bit when we're out eating, but have never tried making it myself - thinking now I should !! xx

meep

glad you enjoyed it ;)) hehe thanks! YOU SHOULD Its super easy :) xx

Aha I knew this was similar to shish kabob - it had a familiar sounding name of course! A dish definitely popular in Central and Southwestern Asia and more popular in the US as a term used when you dominate someone in a video game - "wow that was blowout victory - you completely shish-kabobed 'em!" The meat looks so delicious and is exactly how I always prefer it - well-done!

I love Shashlik (and Pelmeni!)
Who said Russian cuisine is only Soup, Wadyara and Sakuska :D
