Good morning fellow steempunks. I have something special for you today. A kombucha green smoothie. I never had that before and I loved it. The past few weeks I have been growing baby scobies from scratch and trying to perfect the fizzy Kombucha tea recipe.
Though it looks kinda gross, it super fun to see those scobies grow and it brings some extra life into the kitchen. If you absolutely don't know what I am talking about, no worries. I am working on a post that explains the whole process.
But to give you a quick intro into the wonderful world of scobies and kombucha, kombucha is a fermented tea that has been consumed for thousands of years. It's rich in beneficial probiotics (aka the friendly gut bacteria) and disease-fighting antioxidants. It can kill harmful bacteria, improves digestion, and may help fight several diseases.
Here's a pic of my little babies.... Though they are not exactly a thing of beauty, not judge these little ones by their appearance... they are super friendly and good for you!
Probiotic Green Kombucha Smoothie
Ingredients
1 cup kombucha tea
2 cup fresh Moringa leaves (Use spinach if you don't have moringa. Similar taste)
1 mango
2 passion fruit
1 cup pienapple
1 banana
1-2 tbsp hemp seeds
Water as needed
Optional toppings: goji berries and chopped pistachios
Directions
- Blend water and moringa until smooth. Add all other ingredients and blend again. If you have a high-speed blender you can throw everything in at once. Add more water if the smoothie is too thick for you.
- Optional: Supercharge your smoothie with superfoods such as hemp hearts, chia seeds or goji berries. I used goji berries and crushed pistachios for this one.
Have a happy and healthy new week!

I have a friend who sells kombucha at his restaurant and he gave me a bottle and I grew the scobies myself using the commercial kombucha tea. I'll make a post about it today or tomorrow ;)

It is so good indeed, but hard to get fresh if you do not live in a country where they grow them, but I am sure you can find it powdered to add to smoothies. Thanks for stopping by!
