A long time ago, we told about the Chaliapin shchi, which are rightfully included in the list of frequent dishes on our table.
During this time, the recipe was optimized and today we will cook the new version.

Ingredients:
- Dried forest mushrooms, 40 gr.
- Champignones, 300 gr.
- Carrot, 1 PC.
- Cabbage, 1/2
- Onion, 1 PC.
- Ham, 150 gr.
- Prunes, 8-10 PCs.
- Garlic, 2-3 cloves
- Black pepper, vegetable oil, salt
Fill the mushrooms with a one liter of boiling water and cook on a low heat for about half an hour.
Chop the cabbage, salt, lightly press with your hands, put it aside.
Champignones, onion and ham cut into slices, carrot grate on a large grater, garlic chop finely.
Heat a little vegetable oil in a frying pan and fry the ham for a three minutes.
Add the onion and fry for a minute.
Add the carrot and fry for three minutes, stirring constantly.
Add the champignones and fry for five minutes.
Add the cabbage, garlic, salt, pepper to taste, and fry for 10 minutes.
Forest mushrooms cut into small pieces (save the broth), add to the pan. Pour a couple of ladles of broth from under the forest mushrooms, add the bay leaf and simmer all over low heat until the cabbage is ready (from 5 to 20 minutes).
Shift the contents of the pan to a pot with mushroom broth, add 1.5 liters of hot water, bring to a boil, salt to taste, add sliced prunes and leave alone for fifteen minutes.
Serve with sour cream and herbs.
