[EASY DAILY FOOD 73] Spicy Braised Mackerel Pike / Korean Food Recipe / Life Photography

in food •  7 years ago  (edited)

I cooked this one with a canned mackerel Pike.

This is my favorite fish dish. This food is close to a hard-boiled food because I don't stir-fry Kimchi before boiling. Some people stir-fry Kimchi. It is easy to cook and I don't use a specific sauce for this. I know people add some seasoned Korean red pepper paste for this kind of food. I don't like using too much sauce for cooking as I said before. I try to make a food without too much sauce and sugar.

I only try to make a taste good without sauce with the ingredients.

The Mackerel Pike tasted good and little salty and I had some delicious fermented Kimchi. Two ingredients were enough to make a yummy taste. If you really like to want more spicy and sweet fish dish, try to make a sweet red pepper paste sauce. You can also simply buy ' sweet gochujang sauce' in Korean market.

I had kimchi and fish by cooking this Braised Mackerel Pike, so I just added too pieces of Laver called Gim in Korean.

How to cook? It is so easy.

I used one canned Mackerel Pike. It is very important that I didn't throw away the broth in the can.

I put some sliced Kimchi first in the pot and added some sliced potato. I poured the Mackerel Pike then. I added little more of Kimchi and some red pepper powder on the top of the ingredients to my taste. Don't add too much red pepper powder. Finally, I barely covered it with water. When the water started to boil, I turned down the heat. It boiled for about 20 minutes with low heat.

While boiling, I toasted lavers.

Glad you enjoyed. Thank you always @lichtblick :)

You are very welcome :-) Resteemed :-)

Your meal is very pretty! I like canned mackerel. It usually comes from sustainable fish populations that can support a lot of harvest. It's interesting that you toast your seaweed. I will have to try that. How do you toast it - in a pan?

When I applied a coat of oil and salt, I use a pan. This time, I toasted as it was in the low heat without a pan and I had it with soy sauce. :) @haphazard-hstead
I had my magicial soy sauce I made in the following post. :)))

I'll try that! And I'll try using my soy sauce like your other post. That would make a good sauce, like pickles with the soy sauce flavor. Thanks!

You're welcome. Hope you like it. :) @haphazard-hstead

Hi @bontonstory .......
Favorite food is very tasty. This food in other words is a side dish of sambal, I am also a food fan like you. In the area you are called kimchi whereas in the place I called by cooking stir-fry or sambal cuisine. Very well, to cook it also not so difficult. If a lot of sugar does not make a side dish but a cold tea. Hhahahhahahaha .. I like your post, Thanks for sharing this recept. I will cook it with my mom.
I have latest post need help from you.
