@jhermanbeans In most western countries, porridge refers to a dish made by boiling rolled oats in milk or water. I typically use a combination of milk and water to make porridge in the morning. It's very nutritious and cheap.
Soup is a liquid dish made from boiling meat, fish or vegetables.
Stew is similar to soup, but less liquid is used, thickeners are usually added and the dish is simmered for a much longer time, which results in the liquid turning into a thick gravy.
Thank you for adding to this. I know this sounds dumb, but I guess I always just felt like porridge was a fairy tale anachronism. Something magical bears ate, but that didn't actually exist. Gonna have to seek it out, and have some!
