Ulog 23: Sarawak Laksa

My wife, @happycrazycon, made a more elaborate lunch today and cooked her hometown famous dish, Sarawak Laksa.

Laksa is a local dish that varies from state to state. Different states where it's originated from has different ways of cooking it and different ingredients but the core thing of a laksa is that it's a noodle broth full of herbs and spices.

It's an extremely flavorful dish and my favourite has got to be the Sarawak variation of it. It's from East Malaysia or the Borneo Islands which has its own unique flavor that's Chinese influences.

This one comes with shredded chicken breast, shredded egg omelette and prawns. It's been awhile since she cooked this and it was a treat. You can't find really good or authentic ones here in West Malaysia so it was good to have one so similar to the original and authentic one I had in Kuching, Sarawak.

I helped out in peeling the prawns and deveined them as well as did a lot of washing today. Haha.

No recipe here as we used a paste we got so all we needed to so is add water and season it. We also needed to make all the protein ingredients of course as well as freshly squeezed coconut milk that she bought from the local market today.

Anyway, it was a satisfying lunch and in grateful to be able to eat food everyday. Here is a picture to entice you further.
