Latest interview from Ivor Cummings and Dr. Ede on Plant vs Animal based diets

This will be challenging for many, considering we have been conditioned for 10,000 year towards agriculture and away from hunting.

Anyway, this awareness is growing fast, especially in circles where people are beginning to question....well everything.

I have been writing about metabolic health and the cost of building dysfunctional habits based on bad ideas for several years in my facebook groups - before I switched to Steemit.

I hope you enjoy the talk and that it raises more questions, they are more important than answers for they embody curiosity, the gateway to sensitivity and real awareness.

Great interview, it change some of my point of views about the way I eat. I was in the pattern to reduce meat, but in the same time, I want to reduce industrial processed food. I think I will focus more on reducing industrial food as I believe this is more harmful for many reasons. Correct me if i'm wrong.

As she said, plant are not there for us to eat them, but so are the animals and everything else. They don't really like to be ate. She also add that seeds are not good because they are protected. Unleash the shell and the will reveal a lot of good things.

In all things, I believe that knowing what we are eating is the way to select good food and the key to achieve that properly is to educate ourselves.

This is a difficult question. Everyone makes their choice. One becomes a vegetarian not because he loves animals, but because he either does not like to eat meat, or because he has information that meat is harmful. Not everyone wants to become a vegetarian and has his own reasons for this. Everything is relative. everyone will justify their choice.

I love that we can try out different things and share what we find. When I was living as a vegan and vegetarian I would not have wanted anyone to stop me or persuade me otherwise. I agree that it is the direct experiences that are more valuable than the theories we build around them. Stories designed to push emotional buttons are confusing and can take years to unwind.

According to. We can listen to different theories. Perhaps they will affect our further choice. But no one can force us to do it the way any theory requires. Which theory is correct, and which is not - each person decides for himself. Any theory has its pros and cons.

Plants, just like animals, are living entities.

If many people choose a vegetarian diet out of concern over animal rights or the environment... how about plants?

Study has shown that plants scream when their leafs are being ripped off their branches.

when we decide, we divide, does this create conflict simply because division is a convenience of convention rather than a reflection of reality? I prefer com's to con's :)

but there I go dividing....lol....it is tricky...which is why compassion is so beautiful :)

Indeed. Compassion may be the only way to live in harmony with everything.

PS. beautiful comment :)

I am a restaurant owner, and I can see a small trend of people leaning for animal proteins and fats. It is coming due to the Ketogenic diet popularity. Just yesterday a guy that I met after he posted a message asking for recommendations to eat lots of yummy meats on a Facebook group came to my restaurant. Unfortunately there are still too many people who believe that being a vegan or vegetarian equals to good health. Nice artwork! I wish I could do my own too!

Hey thanks, that one I traced and just coloured it in, would take a week to draw it freehand, but I normally like to try to draw the "gesture" by hand also - thats where much emotion is.

Yes many begin to understand ketones provide energy with less oxidative stress while opening other anti inflammatory pathways. Out of those people, some are starting to look for extra health benefits in fatty acids, such as nutrients that are either poorly absorbed or simply not available from plants - Omega 3, vitimins A K E and D for instance.

Half of health is prevention, the other half is attainment. Less is still more, the less we have to process to get what we need, the more energy is free for other things. With that in mind, using food for entertainment can be very expensive, there are other things I find even more pleasant and infinitely more rewarding.

Thanks for sharing your experience, very interesting - as you can see I vote generously for intelligent comments :)

Thanks for useful information, its really interesting.

glad to be of service, the 2 people in that interview are both pretty incredible, have been following their work for several years and learned a great deal them and others in the metabolic health space.

Thank you friend for upvoting my post. I am really thankful to you.

I upvote your work, because it is very special - I thank YOU!

please do continue to give freely, I suspect you will be nurtured as you nurture others

I will try my best, thank you once again for motivation.

There is more to this than just "Animal vs Plant"
Animals are now fed antibiotics, GMO products, injected with steroids etc.
Fats are also largely unhealthy: Ie: GMO PUFA and rancid fats.

A healthy Ketogenic diet is different from a general ketogenic diet.

I agree, both plants and animals concentrate the toxins and the nutrients they are exposed to. animals are further up the chain so can in fact concentrate into incredible dense bio available substances, but likewise they can also accumulate mercury, anti biotics ect.

so long as I can afford to, I eat grass fed beef from Australia - ever though I live in Thailand. the way animals are bred, fed and live here is mostly not so nice. I tried the organic duck eggs and the Beta grow pork, but I feel best on beef with occasional wild line caught and shellfish.

I also agree that few understand fats, took me 3 years to stop fearing them and embrace them.
I did paleo for a year, then keto for another, then last year on and off carnivore before going full carnivore this last 6 months.

I may not have it right, for sure being sure is the fastest way to stop learning ha ha. I do listen to my body and so far am enjoying an effortless 6 pack, steady brain energy, no more itching or dry skin, very good circulation, (wood is good hee hee).

Guessing your into Bio Hacking? I used to listen to Dave Asprey pod casts, but he went over the top on the whole plant based goodness thing and I lost interest. Enjoying Ivor Cummings research, but really their are very few now who can add any value to what I am doing. Experience trumps theory, and my body is happy with zero plants for 6 months - crazy, I never would have considered that to be possible a few years ago when I was a juice nut and organic gardener lol..

Thank you for reading and leaving a comment

Absolutely!

The stigma around Fat and to some degree protein is ridiculous.
If you look at the literature it makes no sense. Its all based on the one study by Keys and it is clear he left out data to support his hypothesis.

Unfortunately, 50 years later we are given the same advice.

Everyone is different and what works for one person does not work for others! It is great that you took the time to learn your body.

I am into biohacking and there's a lot more to it than just diet. (Sauna, Cryo, reducing blue light etc.)
Lots of brilliant doctors who focus on optimal living rather than treating symptoms of disease,

Totally agree again. running more energy through faulty programming makes jack a very naughty robot lol.... If you notice my other posts are mostly about emotion, the micro trauma of a belfeif based operating system ie reactivity over actual sensitivity. Anyhow great to see you on Steemit...love all this stuff.
