It was pretty much the last thing we harvested this year. The cabbages got real big! We grew them in compost soil. They smell real earthy and the taste of them is sweet. We put them all into jars with salt and water to preserve them. The same way we have done the pickled carrots. Just had some from a jar from 2 years ago.
Took the fam awhile to chop it all up and fit the cabbage in jars. Turned out real good. We had sort of a late night last night harvesting and prepping them. We had to do this process last night 'cause it is snowing and getting colder. Water is freezing inside. Cabbage is a fairly cold hardy plant so it was okay we took it out last. These were the most successful cabbages we have ever done.
