Happy Thursday lovely Steemians 💚
Today I want to share with you one of the yummiest plant milks I’ve ever made: HEMP SEED MILK 😉 It is one of the most nutritious alternatives to dairy milk because hemp seeds contain all 9 essential amino acids and are an amazing source of omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids. This milk is amazing for your morning muesli, as a drink or for raw desserts.
Prep time: 5 min
Portions: 1 liter
Ingredients:
- 1 liter of water
- 8-10 tbsp hemp seeds or hemp seed hearts
- 6-7 pitted dates or alternatively 1-2 tbsp date syrup
- a pinch of ground vanilla
Instructions
- Put the ingredients into a blender and blend on highest speed for about 3-4 minutes.
- If you use hemp seeds (not hearts) filter the liquid using a „cheese cloth“ or „nut milk bag“.
Can’t wait for you to try this recipe and let me know in the comments how you like it 😊

Superb! I wanted to make this milk for ages but I couldn't find any hemp seed in my town. How does it taste? Can you boil it or prepare a milk-tea or coffee from it? How good it cuddles up if you prepare yogurt of it? Just want to know out of curiosity.

Thank you :) It has a mild nutty taste but I've never heated it up to not kill any nutrients. Also I haven't tried to make yogurt with it, but that's a great idea ♥

Okay, so you just milk the hemp seeds and drink it cold. Hmm, sounds yummy. But how is the "nutty taste" compared to almond, cashew or peanut milk? Is it thin like almond milk or have a good consistency like soyamilk? I think thicker the milk is, better the yogurt is ...like peanut curd.

I would say it is a thin milk similar to almond milk. Not sure if it is suitable for yogurt, but I guess it won't get thick...How do you make the peanut curd?

OIC! For peanut curd, I take some peanuts and after soaking them overnight, blend them in water and filter it with cheese cloth. Then I boil it just like any animal milk and let it cool down until it is comfortable to touch with finger. And then add starter and leave it for few hours or overnight depending on the weather. And that's it. It's very simple. But it has got a strong peanut flavour. So mostly, I need to make something else from that yogurt like curd-rice, raita etc.

Great thanks so much for sharing! I guess I'm more a fan of nut butters which you don't have to boil, but maybe I'll try the curd one day :)
