ORGANIC GINGER ALE RECIPE you can FEEL GREAT about!!

in food •  7 years ago  (edited)

One of the healthiest and most satisfying beverages I have ever had the pleasure of drinking, is a tall ice cold glass of bubbly ginger ale. The problem is that most commercial brands are again filled with chemicals and preservatives. Here is an AMAZING ORGANIC recipe you can feel great about!!

Ingredients

Syrup Ingredients
1 Cup Organic Cane Sugar
½ Cup Spring Water
2 Tbsp Organic Ginger Root
Cheese cloth

Ginger Ale Ingredients
Ginger Syrup from above
2 Tbsp Organic freshly squeezed lemon juice
7 Cup spring water
1/8 tsp dry yeast (active bread yeast)
2L Sealable bottle

Let’s Do This!!!

Gather all ingredients and let’s get started

Carefully peel a piece of ginger root, grate and measure out 2 Tbsp and place in a pan.

Add Organic Sugar

Add ½ cup spring water

Simmer on stove for 15 minutes.

Allow syrup to stand and soak/draw for 1 hour

Strain syrup through a cheese cloth

Add organic lemon juice to container

Add 7 cups spring water

Add yeast and finish stirring up in preparation jar

Place in airtight container for 2-4 days in a warm dark place such as a pantry to allow yeast to eat the sugar and create the fizzy magic!! Then store in the fridge until finished

Refrigerate and ENJOY!!

I've made homemade ginger ale before and you're right, it's sooooo much better than the real stuff! Glad you're spreading the word that there are better alternatives than the store bought junk!

I think this one goes well with a splash of some smoky scotch from Islay such as Ardbeg TEN or Laphroaig 10yo. Thanks for the recipe!
