Pumped. Absolutely pumped. Getting pumped at the gym. Gonna pump my pumps. That's right. I wear nice pumps, and they have those air things that you can pump to give you extra cushioning at the courts. The judge asked the basketball player where they could meet, and the basketball player answered, "at the courts."
This was confusing for both of them. They both knew the ambiguity of what had been said.
Pump pump pump it up.
Listen. That's the sound of pwang! a basketball hitting the pavement with a pwang! No, not the pavement... that's in an old gymnasium. It can be hard to really really grasp how important.... pwang! the surface of a basketball court is to the behaviour of the ball.
I spent most of my basketball time playing on gravel. Gravel is kooky because every now and then, the ball hits a bigger rock and goes off in an unexpected direction. As an agile kid, I loved this. Chasing the ball... It felt like there was actually someone on defense who behaved unexpectedly, and that I had to actually be astute... Did I mention that I was always just playing alone? ALWAYS? That's not fair. Sometimes my dad would play.
