You probably want me to explain Quadrillion to you, and why the picture conveys it. I had a few ideas. One was to figure out how much salt was a quadrillion molecules of salt... But that requires measuring.

And it's a little less than a gram, I think... I think the information I found was that 58 grams was 718 quadrillion molecules... so.

Of course a quadrillion is also approximately the wealth of the world. 1.2 quadrillion was a number I saw bandied about... Is it cheating that I wanted to find some info before starting my freewrite... It's just one of those numbers, you know? It a very big number, but not so big that it's more than you can conceive of... Like a googolplex is...

There's a quadrillion ants in the world, I think I saw.

A googolplex is more than the number of atoms in the universe. It's such a big number that it's not really useful for measuring things, I think. Right? Is it more than the number of instants in the world? Is it the number of parallel universes? Like, maybe every time a quantum particle moves one way, it also simultaneously moves in every possible direction, but maybe those are finite quanta.

is there. And then, if there is, wouldn't that be possible a very large, but finite number, like googolplex?

Oh, right, so why that picture? Because quadrillion is 10^15 (at least according to the American System) and that shape I'm making with my hand represents 15 if I'm counting in binary on my fingers.

(and my mouth is saying "I'll explain in the freewrite why this is the picture for quadrillion")
