Scrappy -5minutefreewrite

The heap of metal lay on its side, no longer "car", now merely "scrap".

Genevieve touched it. It was hot on her fingertips. She grasped the door and pulled, yanking it off its rusted hinges.

The feel of the sun's lingering heat in the door drove her wild. It had been 2 months since she'd been turned, and the reminder of the sun made her feel like she needed to DO something, ANYTHING to feel alive.

And so she used her super-strength to bend and crush metal into art.

Percival criticized her every move. As if being undead weren't enough, a no-nothing critic had followed her into undeath and cared not one white for form, always asking about function. She couldn't say WHY she loved the metal. If she could articulate it, perhaps she wouldn't make the art. The art spoke for itself, though. She made it because she couldn't SAY it.

Civilizations rose and fell, but for all eternity, they would dance the dance of inadequacy.

Do you do the free write for yourself or as a group activity?

When I first learned, I did it in a group. We met at a cafe. Then, later, I started a film group, and we would start every meeting with them. We've all since gone our separate ways, so since beginning to do them daily on Steemit, I've been by myself. If a crowd of folks expressed an interest, it might be fun to do them at the same time and then share them with each other immediately!.

Same time might be hard - just different schedules and different time zones. I was actually thinking of putting a bunch of daily prompts together and see if anybody will join.
Maybe We can start it :)

do you just pick a word from a dictionary now or how do you get your prompt?
How does this sound. We take turns putting the prompt out to the universe with a 24 hour time limit to participate. People can do a post with the hashtag - and share their contribution under the post.
We can upvote the comments - I don't have lots of voting power, but a little is better than nothing. Or the reward is the glory. Or we split whatever the post makes between all participants.
We can each take a week. Maybe others will join to put together prompts as well. Could be one word, three words, sentence prompts.
That would be fun!!!

Sounds good! I'm in.

Great!! Hashtag #freewrite?? or #dailyprompt? Do you want to take the first week? Do you want me to? I am fine either way :)

freewrite for sure. You start.

So bummed . I wrote this long post on how to do this free writing thing and got 7 daily prompts ready. On busy.org - saved them to drafts - and they are all gone! Lesson learned! Will work on it again in a bit. First prompt coming your way shortly :)

Oof!
