Wild Rose Hips Harvesting. (Nature is abundant.)

in fruitsandveggiesmonday •  7 years ago  (edited)

I walked in the forest and came across this beautiful rose hips!!! I actually walked along here before and so I remember this particular bush of wild roses when they were in full blossom. As much as I shouldn't really be, I was so surprised when I found all these beautiful, big and very healthy looking rose hips!

I felt like finding a treasure!

But that, in fact, was/is so very true!

They are rich natural source of Vitamin C, but also contain vitamins A, B, E and K.

I read somewhere that tree (3) rosehips have more vitamin C than one orange.

No wonder why rose hips are also called the fruit of the rose!

These ones haven’t been treated with chemicals and were not growing near toxic areas such as traffic roads.

So, having all that in mind, I couldn't help myself but harvest some!

I left more than plenty for the birds, too!

Nature is so abundant!!! Having all those supermarkets on each and every corner we tend to forget all about it, many times we even completely ignore it. Some people don't even have slightest idea where some foods really and actually come from at the first place!?! Being bombarded with all sorts of advertising, subliminal images that at the same time are programming our precious minds, many people do not even think of the origin of things, food especially. We are so disconnected from Nature (many times myself included!) and it's all so very sad. It was not supposed to be that way.

There are many ways for use of rose hips, but I plan to use them in tea first of all, and hopefully to make some home made jam. That already sounds very delicious!

Agree we are so disconnect when it comes to our food being consumed by consumption, the modern fast lane., that we often forget about nature providing.
Lovely photographs.

Outstanding photography and valuable information. I cannot agree more about the disconnection from nature.
